I dyno'd the Evo yesterday. She didn't put out what I was expecting, but it is due to a tapering boost controller. So time to buy a new boost controller.
Here is what she did put out:
300 AWHP / 309 LB/FT TORQUE (max torque at 3700 rpm's)
W/ my car and my mods (and good mbc), the car should be around 315 HP on TopSpeed's DYNOJET.
I have to scan my dyno sheet and figure out how to get my computer to get audio along w/ the video from my camcorder...and I can post the vid's.

The EVO's have been growing on me. There is a silver one around my town that is really nice looking.
The numbers aren't too bad. You'll put down some better ones in the future.

sour grapes..........I bet most of those cars that you've seen have been from kids beatin the piss out of it cause they think it can handle anything cause its so fast and so furious. The car is new so of course its not gonna have that many miles on it but you take care of anything and it will last. You drive it hard and things are gonna break sooner. The guy just posted to tell us his dyno numbers, you make a useless post about the looks of the car, which he mentioned nothing about, then you try and say its garbage. You have a 95 2.2 base cav w/ 3 speed auto and 246k miles and his car is still garbage?

actually its in the mist of being a 5 speed...its goin on the lift saturday...
and actually...my gf is 18...and shes the original owner of the car...and has had nothing but problems with her eclipse...
and working right next door to mitsu...i know it cant be all of just young kids...
the cars are ugly, and there motors are bad...
people will see in the next few years...give it time...
im sorry but for 30k or so, i woulda spent my money more wisely...

I have put right a little over $2K into her. Gotta put about $100 more today to get the new boost controller. Then she will hold steady 21 psi til redline.
95CavBlue, you mention problems w/ her Eclipse. Which model does she have? Granted she may have the 4G63, but if you can't tell, there are some differences between her engine and the Evo's. And maintenance also helps a car last longer...

4G63s can make plenty of power, its tried and true, it may have its faults in some years. but they are damn good engines, from drag racing to rallies its been through it all. where has your 2.2 gone?
I can spend 8K on a crx including cost of car and make it outrun a Evo, whats your point?

wow spend 30k on a jbody.. then a guy puts 5k in to the evo and the jbody is still seeing tail lights.. the 4g63 has alot more potential if it is taken care of.. biggest problem is people are not familar with the motors and do not know how to treat them.
jealous i cant get my car painted? my cars black it will stay black period no other color because black looks good on it end of story. and when you say work on cars do you mean you change the oil and put new air filters in them or do you drive them through the dealership car wash?

I love Evo's. I think they look sweet. I just wish we had the real evo's like Japan has. I'd take an Evo III anyday.
Sweet deal man...glad to see some nice numbers like that...I love the Evo, it's a helluva solid car and like WRX it has that rally heritage....hope to see more good things in the future.
