Come on now, I seriously doubt any stock Jeep could have made it up that ridiculous slope, besides maybe a Rubicon Wrangler.
Still pretty crappy though, he must have really rammed that front end into those tree roots to do damage like that.

Well the interesting thinga bout Trail rated is it's fake. There is no rating, it was a developed marketing idea to reenforce Jeeps go anywhere image. when i reality the only jeep with that capability is the Wrangler. and even then trail rated gets abused.
wanna try something fun/ ask a jeep dealedr what the jeep your looking at is rated....if it's rated then what's it's rating? and who rated it and what testing did they use to determine it's rating. And who are "they" how did "they" get so smart to develop a "rating" for off-roading.
they'll either blubber like idiots, or totally make stuff up. either way it's funny. because Jeep made up the "Trail Rated" tag line/badging. and really the only thing in Jeep showrooms worthy is the rubicon Wrangler. otherwise any other stock jeep needs to be lifted no less than 2 inches for proper clearance and articulation, and have more agressive tires than the gay all season Goodyear Wrangler "light truck" tires they come with to be more trail worthy....unless that's all your going to do ride dirt road trails. but if your hill climbing, rock crawling, stream crossing, or even basic mudding....no stock "trail rated Jeep will do well.
Trail rated is fake. for once i can completely argree with wesman..."The best off-road vehicles are only as good as the drivers behind the wheel "...

That is what happens when you have @!#$ for ground clearance and decide to go that fast up a hill.

A stock Wrangler (excluding Rubicon) would of made it up that pretty easy. I have climbed some hills bigger than that when I was stock without getting hung out like that dude. I will have to go check and see if my girlfriend still has the pictures from the hill climbs we did a couple years back.
As far as Trail Rated, it is a big marketing ploy. I am kind of ashamed of it because you get people nowadays buying the Jeeps with the infamous badge on the side and think they can do everything and anything imagineable.

You know Justin, and now that i think of it it may be wheelbase too. you have a wrangler i have a sidekick. i have video of me blasting up and over hills like that when my kick was bone stock. our cars have a good cpmbo of low overhangs, short wheel base, and decent ground clearance. The liberty is long and lower. so that guy is retard

Exactly. The Wranglers and Sidekicks are pretty good when it comes to doing some steep hill climbs and even when going down some steep hills with pretty extreme departure angles.
I feel that the video shows driver error and not enough knowledge on what to do correctly. I still feel for the guy though, because parts to replace what he broke do not come cheap.

it wasn't anything against the Jeep but Jeeps marketing. They talk about this trail rated but what does it really mean? People assume they can do anything.

I give some props to the Hummer guys that take their rigs on trails. Here are some shots from Paragon up around my area of some Hummers tearing it up.
The first two pictures show how good a LWB vehcile would do compared to a SWB on that particular obstacle.
Have a good one,

Ah yes, those are REAL Hummers though. no doubt those are the bomb. H2 and H3 however is as off-roadable as that Liberty.

I totally agree. When my girlfriend had her '92 Laredo, that thing would tear it up for being a stock XJ.
I feel in love with that 2500 above. That would be a great thing to introduce now to bring back the Cherokee styling.

doesnt the comanchee kinda look like the same style?

Yup, the Comanche (MJ) and the Cherokee (XJ) share a lot of the styling but also have some differences.
The taillight lenses are different from a Cherokee's, the wheel flares are the same (as a 2dr Cherokee), hoods are swappable from 84-92 models Cherokee's (Cherokee's above 92 used spring-loaded hinges), and all mechanical/electronic parts forward of the firewall ARE identical.
