Yep...got my confirmation email saying the car goes to production on 17 Oct 05 and should have it sometime around the first week of Nov
(I'm in Germany, US military so that's how I can get it so fast)
Got the Saab 93, Aero loaded (except the automatic!). Comes with DVD navigation, leather, turbo V6, 6-speed tranny and too many other things to list! Excited and so glad I waited for the V6 as I've wanted a Saab 93 for a few years. Last year I was about to buy one and the dealer told me they were going to get the V6 turbo finally and I said I'd wait one more year.
Got to see one today as a car came in for another customer and it was sweet! Still not drove the V6 turbo, but the 2.0 turbo was nice when we test drove it. I'll post up some pics in a month or so once I have the keys! It also has the new dual exhaust, new alloy 17 inch rims and just a load of other things!
Anyway, just wanted to share my excitment with everyone...go back to your normal routine
Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?
Yes, I can admit it.... I'm a little jealous. Congrats man!

Congrats on the Saab. My girlfriend just picked up a 99 93 convertible with the 4cyl turbo. She loves it.

Wow that one caught me off guard. I didn't realize they were going to bring over the V6. Not that the turbo Ecotec was a bad engine, it was actually a damn good engine, but the V6 gives the car a much needed boost from the factory, without need for modification. I always wondered how they could justify the cost when the engine only put down 210hp.
Great car, btw, I love the 9-3. Congrats.

isnt the v6 an ecotec also?
and they justified the cost w/ luxary

It should be around $30K. I'm in Italy and me and my wife were looking at an SS 2.0T and fully loaded minus DVD nav was $28K. Cars are a lot cheaper over here since you don't have to pay tax and destination costs and such. Plus you can have them built for you. No buying a car that other people have test drove. lol
Is that a...a...a... a Cavalier?
Actually I paid just a tad over 32K for the car. That includes everything such as destination charge ($512) and such from Sweden. I was happy with that price as last year we priced one out at almost 35K and that was with the 2.0T.
Taxes and title will be paid once I return to the states with the car but it will not be a new car then, so only if the state has a used car sales tax do I have to pay anything. Title and things are usually pretty cheap for military since most states have a military exemption for things and we only pay a flat rate (like Miss was $60 a year while I was there).
Anyway, I'll throw up some pics in about 6 weeks once I pick up the car. Thanks again for the comments.

Congrats on the new car, they are very sweet looking Saab's.
Have a good one,

Are you serious man? I thought you read and posted on the threads I made on this engine close to a year ago.
This is the same 2.8L V6 engine found in the CTS but in Saab's case...Turbo.
Congrats on the car. I always said that the underpowerd 2.0L Ecotec was not gonna cut it for the Aero version and that V6 turbo was much needed. Personally, if I was Saab, I would have opted for the 2.3L I-4 from the 9-5 which is now rated at 260HP/260Tq.
But this new V6 engine is peepy and very smooth cuz of a natural 60 degree design and you're gonna love it.
