I'm pretty certain my 91 Eclipse Turbo has a blown head gasket. I'm going to do a compression check on it today. But the oil is milky. Anyways thats not the point.
My real question is if it was driven that way for a while before I got it what kind of damage could it do? I've blown a head gasket before but it was fixed almost immediately so i'm not sure of the damage it could do over time.
Car turns over very slowly. Some times the cam gears dont move while I hear the starter turning.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have the SAME problem in my 88 Civic DX hatchback. The oil is milky as hell and plus I have oil all over the spark plug in cylinder #4. Plus the damn thing smokes like no tomorrow and it bogs VERY badly after 2nd gear. I'm getting a Honda OEM rebuild kit and changing the head gasket and piston rings as soon as possible.
It's not a good idea to drive it with a blown head gasket. You can warp or crack the head, as well as contaminate your fluids. Best bet is to fix it before you drive it anymore. Be prepared to fork over some cash too. I spent over 500.00 fixing my wifes hg, and it's a Mitsu Galant, non turbo. I did all the work my self too. That 500 bucks included new timing gears and belt, as well as distributor cap, having the head machined, and a valve job while i was at it.
Hmm.. you can ruin the main rod bearings, screw up the rings, crack the head.. I'd get it checked out asap.

Exactly. Basically, if you plan on keeping the car (or engine), its just not worth driving it. Water and Antifreeze act as an anti-lubricant when mixed with the oil, and they can corrode seals and rings inside the engine. Not good at all.
You might want to try some of that Bar's Leaks "Headgasket Repair in a bottle" as a temporary fix, sometimes those things will help if its a small leak.

I didn't drive it with a blown headgasket. I'm not that stupid. I said I think the guy drove it with a blown head gasket. He was a real idiot. I ran a compression check on it and its not looking good. Its suppose to be around 180 and I got 90 on the #4 cylinder and 28 on the #3. I didn't test the other two. Gonna pull the head and see whats up.
it'll seize if you keep driving. without prooer lubrication you will destroy that engine..the bearings the rings....
