I'm sad to report that I finally killed my 2002 Chevy Z24 Sedan. It needed more work done on it than it was worth (although it still ran) so, I traded it for a 2005 Saturn Vue 2.2L Ecotech with a 5-speed manual transmission. Yeah, it's less horsepower, but it's more room and my milage is much better.
Anyway, my question is about the engine - the 2.2L Ecotech. This might sound like an idiotic question, but, is the Ecotech in my Saturn Vue the same that's in the late-model J-Bodys? Thanks!

your motor should be drive by wire , internally the motor should be the same , but being a suv there isnt alot interchangeable between it and a cav

You killed a car that's only 3 years old??!!?? Must have driven the holy heck out of that one, huh? Hope you're nicer to the new one.
Anyway, the Vue isn't bad. I agree with everyone else, though. I personally would have prefered the V6 Redline. However, with gas prices being what they are, I don't blame you one bit for getting the 4 cyl. Good luck with it!!

You can get that Honda engine on the regular Vue and it becomes a sleeper. And hell yhea that V6 pulls like a mofo. I think it needs the AWD, to keep that power to the pavement.
But with gas price going crazy the I-4 makes a lot of sense.

96 2.2 5speed

^^BC,
You don't need to spend the extra $2K+ and get the Redline package in order to get the V6. You can get the V6 in base look form, and also AWD too.

the redlines are mean looking....
but yea nothing wrong with a 4 banger 5spd.....good gas millage and yet still have some room and versatility
I don't think there was much difference in gas mileage between the 4 and 6 cylinder engines. I find the vue is too heavy for the little eco, so the gas mileage suffers quite a bit..
