so this weekend i was at the dealership getting my oil changed and tires rotated and i got to talking about gm with the techs (by the way who are quite misinformed ) and they told me about a silverado hybrid truck where all it saves you is about 6 -7 mpg still a savings but to me considering in price of the truck maintenance and al other stuff wouldnt it be just cheaper or the same amount to not be a hybrid ? can anyone confirm this i wont lie i didnt search didnt think anything of it till today
(yes i am lazy i didnt want to do my oil and my tires it was hot out and im fat !!!)
TRUE! I heard about this a long while ago....pretty awesome if you ask me
It's a four banger, you gotta bang it four times to get it goin'....
better off gettin a diesel an usin alternative fuels
wait till the new standards for diesel kick in
the price is going to go way up
id say, not really worth it, unless you are a green head
30gallons time 7 extra mpg= 210 extra miles per tank
average truck gets waht? 15mpg?
so 210/15=14gallons of gas to go that extra mileage
14x2.769 local gas price =38.766 per tank savings... guesstimated
say you fill up once a week w/ said 30 gallon tank
50x25(i assume most people dont run a tank bone dry)
$1250 a year. again a guesstimate
i guess it could pay itself off
one day
diesels get a lot better mileage then that
i know that
most everyone should
but also, the price of diesel is going to go up soon
how much, who knows
thats why ppl with diesels should get alternative fuel such as biodiesel or grease car kits!
