i was wondering. i need to buy a car soon i have about 14k to spend i really want a turbo. but for the money i was looking at a SRT-4. or a SVT focus i know it doesnt have a turbo but the handeling is outragous. i can get a SVT for around 13k with only 16k miles but a SRT-4 i can only find for around 14k with around 30k miles. if anyone has anything better i would like to hear.
srt-4 is a lot better than a svt, svt's arent that fast, and not fast at all compared to the srt

yup...witnessd first hand...me and the srt-4 raped a svt...i lost to the srt..snag the srt
srt 2 bodies have them and really like them make sure its an 04 or 05. they have limited slip and 25 more hp and about the same for torque to. Also both friend have 05's and one has stage 1 upgrade and the other has basically stage 3 he has bought the stage 2 and has stage three turbo with turbo toys (ie intercooler spray,100+ octane switch and boost controller that all sits in the car below the ac controls and uses stock spot in dash looks like it was meant to be there and no drilling. The reason im saying all this is cuz i can get you a discount on the different stages ie 1,2,3. I believe its 10% above dealer cost friend of mine works for dodge. so if ya need the hook ups just let me know

No comparison in the country for that kind of performance capability for under 20 grand. Nothing comes close.

If you want mainly top speed and acceleration, then go with the SRT-4.
If you want a real autocrosser, than go with the SVT Focus. Its a very fun car to drive, and much more refined than the SRT-4 could ever be.

^^^ i raced a s/c'd svt focus, he only put about 2 cars on me, and i spun through first and half of second., go for the srt, u wont regret it.

That'd be my choice. Jackson Racing has a very nice S/C for the SVT Focus.

the focus is fugly and slow , the s/c doesnt even help the focus out
get the SRT. But don't get it and make a thread bitching about being broke cause you have to use premium gas. Also before buying the SRT I would have it checked out and made sure it wasn't beat all to hell.
i kidna like the SVT.....probably the best handling FWD car you can buy
although slow in straight line, the looks of it are way better then that of the srt-4
Why is it a car is junk or crap because it's not "fast"? how does a 0-60 time qualify a car as good or crap? The SRT is fast and not much else. The SVT handles awesome, and not much else. BOTH are great cars.
If all your going to do is drag race every car that pulls next to you then get the SRT. If your looking for a good car with a fun suspension then get the SVT. You can't go wrong with either car.

dont get the acr, its a waste of money, its not ANY faster, and the parts that are upgraded, your just gonna want to upgrade more anyway.
I think SVT's are overpriced

My friend has one and the handling is unreal . And either way , both cars take PREMIUM fuel , so if you want turns and nice ride, go with the SVT .
If you want fast , then go SRT 4.
Coming from a SVTF owner, bang for the buck is def in favor of the srt. BUT I have heard from alot of people that the SVT is alot nicer in many ways the the srt doesnt have. Interior, suspension, quality...ect. You could do either with either car and be pretty close, slap a turbo on the svt and you'd own the srt. If i could get either again, I'd get the srt4 just because of turbo.
