Well i work at the Priority Acura dealership around here...and our showroom NSX got sold somewhere like months ago....so i askd the GM Bill Snyder when we were getting the 06 NSX...and he told me they discontinued those cars to the US...or atleast this state or w/e....
At first i was like....damn that sux (cuz i never got to drive it)....then i started thinking...
WHO GIVES 2 MOTHER @!#$KING SHIITS??? about $87,000 for a crappy POS like that....i think its like 3.2L vtec 6 cyl...alll you get is a good looking car....
it is a mid engine car...that NONE of our techs like doing cuz its a pain in the A$$ to work on.....
but still 87 grand for a 290 hp RWD vehicle that (i forgot the torgue numbers
) and weights 3 thousand pounds....GO @!#$K yourself....
ok how bout this
87 grand for a damn viper....wit like 500 hp and in my opinion looks much better....
or even take 23 grand tops get a srt4 wit 230...and but the rest of your 60K into it and youll @!#$kin rape a damn NSX by 8000000busses.....or even....25K i think for an evo8 that has like 400 horses....and put the 60K in that and you got a @!#$kin monster...
Point is.... i dont see the point in Honda trying to make a super vehicle and charging all that money for a crapp car... that is just my oppinon...some of you guys love the NSX...alotta guys at work love it to...like drool over them in the magazines...but those are hooked up.... but i normally dont hate cars...just the ppl that give them bad names like civics (not tryin to start @!#$)...but i can honestly say i hate the NSX...and i think honda needs to SERIOUSLY rethink their "supercar"
tell us how you really feel
Not unintentionally accelerating since 2009!!!!
I have thought that way since I first saw the hp #'s, and that was a long time ago. I really don't care for the styling either.
they're all hand-built. everything. that's why they're expensive. sometimes it's not about absolute horsepower-to-dollar ratio.
i dont care...it is still str8 up crap...it might sell better if they mass produce it and drop the price by about 40 grand...
Well I'll admit that I'm not a fan of the NSX either. As you mentioned, it really is over-hyped and overrated, yet some people still feel that its one of the best cars in the world.
After all, for almost $90K, you too can have an "exotic" that hasn't been redesigned in 15 years. It packs an amazing 290HP, which is outclased by vehicles costing less than half as much. Even better, if you get the auto, the HP gets downgraded to 252HP. I guess the car's just not expensive enough for Honda to justify the manufacturing of an automatic trans that can handle a pathetic 290HP; and even less torque.
Its about time the NSX gets the axe. Its to the point now where the car is just a plain rip-off for the price that Honda charges for it. Yet year after year, they still manage to find some poor sucker to buy one.
My CarDomain Page
It's a trophy car if you ask me. The people that buy them do it to prove they can afford it/show off/whatever. Poor suckers = yes.

maybe some people don't care if it's what you would call a "ripoff", they want an NSX. People buy Ferraris, does that mean they should've saved their money and bought a Corvette instead? i mean, it's faster, right?
and if the NSX was mass-produced, it would lose what appeal it has (because, it is a relatively poor performer for the price, even i'll agree with that). i can tell you that i've seen one NSX in person, ever. on the other hand, i've seen one Corvette in the past hour. and that, my friends, is why the NSX is so expensive - exclusivity. people will buy it whether you think it's a piece of @!#$ or not... and that's why they will keep making them (cause I guarantee you Honda isn't losing money)
they look nice, but i wouldnt spend 80-90k for one...
give me a vette...and id be more happy with that...

Take a few deep breaths and tell how you really feel without the anger lol j/k. Anyways aside from being over priced Honda/Acura did sell em like hot cakes, so they must have done something right weather you like it or not.
"Custom cars, custom problems."-me
yea...sold them like hot cakes in japan...some of the techs that have been working their for years say onle 1 was bought from us...and priority is like one of the hights rated dealerships in VA...and the one i was tlakn bout i dunno where it went...i assume it was sold....and ill agree with the rareity...you hardly see it...but that could also be b/c ppl dont want to pay 80K-90K for a 290hp car when they can get just as nicea one with 300 more hp...and the corvettes were a lotta bang for buck in my opinion...well not really nemore....(thanx mitsubishi)..not bashing.....and as far as the new NSX wit V10..then im all for it...but the US wont see them....they been discontiued in the US...prolly cuz honda was loosing money from making and shipping and then haveing to ship back or w/e cuz the dont sell that well here....i ono...i just hate that car
I dont think they are making a nsx with a v-10. Pretty sure a whole new car is replacing it. As for honda shipping the NSX back because they didnt sell them....believe me they didnt do that. Theres no way in hell they couldnt not sell them. If the mass produced them like civics, yeah theyd be stuck with a sh1t load of em. But i highly doubt they arent sending them back to japan.

< NSX successor >
We are now focused on the development of a new model to succeed the NSX for a new era. We would like to debut a new super sports car equipped with a V10 engine in 3 to 4 years. Please look forward to seeing the NSX successor.
You can find that here about 3/4 ways down

*sigh* it's not always about horsepower.. by your logic.. the Lotus Elise is a piece of crap.. over $40K US for a car with a measly 190 hp.. hell my car has more power than that for ~$25K US.. I guess my car is better than a lotus huh?

my automotive instructor had one when i was in college, it was a nice car he let me take up and down the road a few times (he was also my neighbor) it was nice, but back then all i cared about was raw power, and I had really know idea about anything outside of G.M. vehicles... I was obsessed with G.M. eversince i was little...lol
anyways
He sold it after it had some engine trouble and had to pull the motor twice in one year just to do minor repairs i think one was only an exhaust manifold gasket, but still the motor had to come out...
he said he absolutley loved the car but just couldnt stand working on it when he had to and that he got to the point where he didnt want to drive cause he didnt want to have to fix it.
my automotive instructor was in his mid 50's and was an awesome auto tech, but he was just tired of working on cars everyday.
at the time he also had a 96 grand am, a 93 corvette, a 74 corvette, 92 blazer & 82 chevy plow truck(that i later bought from him) .
He said the NSX was his first and last foreign car he would ever buy in his life............
Then I saw him a few months ago when i went up north on vacation and then i saw him driving a brand new 350-Z. LOL. I just laughed.....
Then he said in August of 06 he will be getting a brand new Z-06 and if i want to take it for a ride im more than welcome to(with him in it of course)!!!!!!!!!!!! this guy is awesome!!
sorry to get off track there, but ive had about 4 jager bombs and abot 6 canes of Monster Assault energy stuff and kinda bouncin off the walls
im not post jacking sorry

Watch out with the Monster man.. You can have a Niacine reaction and be in real trouble if you over do it. Same goes for Redbull and many other "energy" drinks.
Sorry to be off-topic but 6 is a lot.
The NSX is nice to look at, I've only ever seen one on the road and it was slick. I don't think I'd ever buy a mid-engine car though.. You have to drop the engine out to do just about anything.. Either you spend gob$ on tool$ or you pay huge $$$ to a mechanic.

As I've said before, you don't buy an NSX because you want a fast car, you buy it because you want a car like that. Wow! Who the heck compares a modded SRT4 to an NSX?? I would take a stock NSX over an SRT4 with 60k worth of mods in it anyday. "Damnit, you beat me by 8,000 bus lengths in a race, have fun in your Neon!" The person who would take a modded SRT4 over an NSX because it's faster only cares about horsepower, and therefore, you are correct, an NSX would not be a good car for them. Do you think somebody who wants/drives an NSX cares about losing to an SRT4? How about this for all the Corvette lovers in here. I'll do some internal mods to my Type R, up the boost to 18psi, put down 450-500whp and wax vettes all day long, does that make you want my car over a Vette now?? HECK NO! You'd still take a Vette just because you like it better. Same logic between the NSX and SRT4.
just to keep it in the same category
the nsx currently is outclassed by everything that should be in its class
when the new honda supercar comes out, we will see how they do
the nxs was designed to compete with the skyline, the supra, and the gto (mitsu 3000gt).
on any track on any day of the week it will probably be faster than all of those cars.
how much will an r34 skyline cost?
take an nsx and a corvette out to the track. all of a sudden that low hp of the nsx doesnt seem to matter as much.
only a ricer would care how fast a car does a 1/4 mile to determine how "good" a car is.
1988 Pontiac Fiero w/ 4.4 Liter Supercharged Northstar would destroy any NSX anyone has... But Fieros are everywhere...just not with northstars in them...
