I'm not familiar with the price on a cobalt, but the markup on cavaliers and sunfires was roughly $600. I would estimate about a $1500 employee discount for a cobalt, if that. That of course excludes any other incentives like conquest, loyalty, and any other dealership-side deals.

Just go to the Chevy website and build the 2005 Cobalt you want. At the end it will have a link for you to follow to get the discounted price.

GM Emploee Discount will only give you 5% of the total car's value (before taxes I believe).. They are not giving full discount on the Cobalts. Because the SS is a liimited Model.

Regular Cobalt then you will get the full 10% of the vehicle cost.

NO NO NO NO!!!!

DO NOT go to a dealer until you have done AS MUCH research as you can! This means go to the Chevy web site, look up the dealer inventory, find the cars you might be interested in and WRITE DOWN the GME price. That way you know if they are trying to string you along!

It's just another sale, don't read into it too much. My sunfire I got in May cost less than it would have w/ the discount (getting the price talked down + 3500 rebate). The rebate that big is no more (on all vehicles), which levels it all out.
