In the past couple of weeks, my girlfriend decided to sell the '92 Cherokee (XJ) she originally owned and went newer and purchased a 2001 w/ 84,000 miles.
This weekend me, her and our friends got together and lifted it on up. Right now it is just sitting 3 inches with 31's, but she is going to go 1" higher to get better ground clearance along with getting a track bar to level out the tires up front.
The only set back we ran into were the rear shock bolts, all four of them snapped off so we had to tap and re-drill new ones. In doing so, two bolts ripped out of the threads on
the passenger side and made the shock lay on the exhaust pipe (picture is below) when she was driving home. We fixed that up yesterday and the Cherokee is driving just fine.
Actual wheeling pics will be coming soon along with some more goodies I picked up for mine
Have a good one,
Justin

My g/f's Wrangler looks alot like yours.
I never have taken pics of it but I need to. I think you would like it, hers is a YJ though.
I really like your Jeep man. I'm normally not a fan of TJs, but yours is an exception. Your g/f also has a really nice Cherokee, nothing like a couple of Jeep lovers going out for a date on a trail!
makes me want an xj... maybe this spring... :sigh:
cool you and your gf have same interests in cars.

I can do that with my car too...... Pretty cool automo-cars

Whenever you get a chance, I would like to check out her YJ. If mine looks like hers, I am sure I will like it.
Thanks for the props on the TJ. I'll be honest too, I have never ever been a fan of your style Camaro. I guess it is because of the ones I see around my area don't appeal to me (maybe because they are not well kept), but after seeing the pic in your registry of yours I really really like it.

Yeah, I am really stoked that she is into Jeeps just as much as I am. I am also really happy she is willing to learn about her Jeep and get her hands dirty just like the rest of us.

That is what I thought too after we finished the lift. After seeing hers how it is, it really makes me wish I got a Cherokee instead of a Wrangler.
Thanks everyone else for the comments. I will make sure to pass the news along to Erin. I am sure she will appreciate it
.
Have a good one,

Sweet XJ. That is only the second yellow one I have seen. Man I can't wait till tax returns come in I really got to start buying stuff for the jeep.
Those Jeeps look sick, they're making my decision really hard as to whatto do when I come back from Iraq, either lift my Ram or buy my Dad's ZJ and lift that. Damn you and your nice Jeeps.
Yella02-I promise I will return to you in one piece and this will stay up until I am safely home

I am sure whatever you decide to do, it will look sick. Ram's lifted are too awesome. There are a couple in my area we catch up with and they are huge.
I rarely see any ZJ's lifted up around my area, I pass one once in a while on my commutes to work but that is about it. I am not too big on them stock, but people can pull off some nice stuff with them when they are lifted.

Justin what brand of tires does you girlfriend have and how much they run her? Those look pretty meaty.

They are the Intero Trxus Mud Terrains. Those are 31x10.50's. When the PA Jeep show was around she picked up five of them up there for around $550. They are real aggressive looking and hum pretty good when she on the highway.
The only problem with them is that they tend to be a little hard to balance. On one of the tires, it took 13 ounces to balance, lol. As you can imagine, she is using that one for a spare tire. The rest weren't too bad.

SWEET!
I love it!
You are going to have a lot of fun!!!!!!!!!!!
