just the facts. I owned one but never autocrossed it. now i've come upon two affordable cars i can buy and use as my autocrossing car. One is a 1999 Z24, the other....i'm not going to say because it's a better car IMO, but unpractical. And i really don't want to say because i want to hear info about the Z24, I'm pretty much sold on the other car....but i LOVED my Z24 and would like another. I already own a daliy driver so this would only be my weekend racer.
any thoughts or opinions on weather the Z24 is a worthy autocrossing car?

Jeremy(BIGJERM21).....check out his mods. His corners like a dream. I never thought a Cavi could corner that good. He took me on one course and I was ready to upgrade my Z's suspension aferwards!
Eric EZ Zeitner(ezgoing)....Z corners awesome too! He has the RKSport ProStreet full coilovers and they ride really nice and smooth.
With all I have done to my suspension I really need to get my car out there!
I just realized..Why is this in Other Cars? Oh ya my car handles amazing! Esp if you've ever taken a on/off ramp with me.
There are better cars to autox with.

Z-24 > 350Z but some people like over rated/ priced cars.

It depends on what class you want to run in. The Z-24 stands very little chance in STS (ask autoxfool about that). The Z-24 probably stands its best chance in DSP, but there are other cars that are better.
You don't see many Z-24's listed in the SCCA Nationals, and you see none of them finishing in the top 10 in their class.

So i was looking for educated advise, not an idiot outburst from Vin Diesel. My other car choice is a 1997 Miata...and I know it's better than a Z24 for what i want to do with it....but i like the J too and is a practical car for more than racing too...if needed.

well i know a few J's that autoX and i'm one of them... I'm classed in DSP and i haven't been on R's all year... next year i will be on R's and some other little enging mods as well.
if you have a good set up... and you know how to set up your car... and you can drive.. you will be very competitive in your class.... IMO... i'll know for sure next year...
Read this Jon's car is an 02 LS Sport with the eco blower and beat quite a bit of "better" cars.

with the right suspension mods i think they would be a great car to auto-x with, i have minimal suspension mods and my car handles awsome
althougt the miata would be a great car to auto-x with, really cant beat it if you know how to drive it
but z24 is more of an underdog way to do it, if you can really drive then you should be competitive

i think my cobalt handles pretty damn good, i havent addressed the cav. susp. wise, but i got gravana coils coming, so im getting there hope to do some autox next yr.
