Alright guys. i need some help from my fellow j-body members...i need a new daily driver because i see the end is near for my z24. I'm looking for a 94+teg..a/c.pwr everything and a sunroof..basically same equipement as my z. I have done a search and nobody can say anything bad about the car. They say it's reliable.economical and handles well. Any downsides to this car..as in mechanical..Are they pron to anything?
Question 2..GSR...is a gsr motor the same as the b18 with just a different head ?

without getting too much into it, there is always going to be flaws in any car, regardless of who makes it...but, ive never had a problem with me 2000 integra...it is quite reliable and does handle amazing, so from your research youve found its all been pretty much dead on to my experience (and with 25mpg city and 30mpg highway i cant complain all that much at the pump)
question 2: without getting TOO deep into the intricacies of the engine and being blunt it is pretty much the b18b1 block with a different head ( essentially to make the ls/vtec people so often strive to achieve that is basically it).... HOWEVER there are things that are changed, the stoke is shorter, the gear ratios are shorter, the compression is higher, the cams are obviously different, the intake manifold is different --> all these things plus many more add up to the difference between the c1 and b1,vtec. if you want more in depth knowledge visit

hope u know a stock 96-02 z24 will beat a stock integra (not a true type r)if your a good driver.

what he said. the manifold isnt really that much better... and most of the aftermarket companys like skunk 2 just copied the type r manifold. but i know the edlebrock manifold nets good gains. the gearing is MUCH shorter. power difference is 142 in the ls and 172 in the gsr and 195 in the type r.
just buy an ls and put a vtec head on it. ls vtec kicks ass as long as u dont try to rev to like 8500-9000 on a stock ls crank.

nope. GSR is much superior from the bare block to the 4.40 final drive.
