What's so great about "the duke" is that it was a 92 HP 4-cyl put into an almost 3,000 lb. car. Luckily by 1986 GM realized what a bunch of retards they were and produced the last Iron Duke F-body. After that, nothing but V6s (still sucks but better than a 4 cyl I guess) and V8s were in f-bodys.

Ohh I know TBI wasn't until 88, I was just expressing my grave dislike for the L03.

Actually the 84 Firdbird was produced in small numbers. Justin's Firebird SE was one 1 of 500 produced for that model year with the 5.0L V8. But the engine was swapped out by the team with a 400 C.I. small block. The engine is really the only loss.
