LS/VTEC Update
Saturday, August 06, 2005 3:29 PM
Well, I , discided agianst going VTEC turbo due to the fact I would like to not have to rebuild the motor every six months. So two days ago, I had a meeting between Tach Out Motorsports and A & A Speed. The best avenue is to build a LS/VTEC 1.8L N/A engine. The Integra CAN NOT product the power of my 95 TSi and will be removed from the NOPI races at the end of the year. I will insteed send it onto the show car curcuit. Any opinions would be welcome.

Thanks, I'm not too happy with Honda's right now and considering selling this one has putting the money into my DSM.

my motor has been going strong for more than a year now with me constantly beating on it. whoever said you had to rebuild it every 6 months needs to pull thier head out of thier ass

you've got to remember even if not all hondas are fast nearly all of them you can beat the piss out of and they will keep running. so properly tuned you will be able to get a fast and reliable honda.

wow...whoever told you this really does need to follow what turboGSR said...if anything going the F/I route would be safer on the car w/ less problems (obviously not skimping out on tuning and getting it done right) than putting a VTEC head on a non vtec block...besides if you want VTEC that bad, it would end up being more cost effective to sell the b1 and just get a c1 and go from there

hondas that are fast will not be reliable, there is no way around it really. im not talking about a 300-350whp honda, those can be very reliable and with the right tuning i have known a few people who had them just as reliable as stock. but when you get into higher horsepower numbers stupid things consistantly go wrong. not to mention i have been through 3 motors now to get one that would last me for as long as it has. if you want a fast car, you have to spend alot, no way around it really.

and 99cavturned00teg is right, in order to do the lsvtec right you would need to get a block girdle, mill the head and deck the blow to make sure surfaces are even, get the conversion kit, arp main cap bolts to fit the block girdle, labor plus the cost of the head will end up being more than the cost of a b18c1.

but if you really want to do an ls/vtec i have a spare b18c5 head that i was told could be repaired with some work, it was off of my second motor. shoot me an offer if you would like

now that i think of it i could prolly assemble a motor out of my engine grave yard i have going on here.....

H O N D A, oh how well love it when we smokin V8s, all day, every day, it dont stop, Im rolling in my Honda like Im running from the cops.
BUT Now you know, cause you're Jon Doe, in a black bag, a tag on your toe, I built the Honda, I felt the pain, you're victimized with no one to blame, you're just another victim kid.....
