Concept at this years Detroit Autoshow, car released in 09. But if the public goes nuts for it, it wouldnt be surprising if it was out in 07.

I'll believe it when i see it. There has been a good amount of talk about this, last i heard was that they had scrapped the idea....
last i heard they were postponing it until at least 2010 due to the development of the new line of trucks and suvs. GM needs this! they need a strong RWD line of cars to compete with the stang... just the gto wont cut it. hopefully some concept pics will be released sometime soon. in some ways id like to see a rehash of the first gen due to the great sales of the stang, but a new design for this day and age would be good too.
Check out my build thread!
Sounds cool but I wont believe it until I see the concept.

Wonderful, this should be interesting...
Good luck with that...
hopefully they're not talking about the chevy "SS"...that fugly rx8 / 73 camaro ripoff makes the baby jesus cry..
The Comaro is dead. GM axed the car with most of its new RWD concepts. Personal once I get my WS6. I'm leaving the GM market.

If the car comes out when the article says it is, this retro crap will be long gone. I hope GM doesnt do what ford did, i think its ugly, unoriginal, and from a design stand point you dont have much to work with when you go to make the next one.

I doubt it and I hope not, it was years ago and butt ass ugly.

The camaro (or a chevy RWD car for that matter) was suppose to come out when the next GTO came out and was built in america. Well the GTO isnt getting canned, so besides the fact that GM is saying theres going to be a concept, and that GM renewed the camaro trademark, it should be more than obvious that the camaro is coming back. Do you really think that GM is just going to let ford (and soon to be chrysler) own the RWD sports car market?
i agree with spitfire, no retro garbage... its old and ugly... i hope to god GM doesnt @!#$ up the camaro... thats like my 2nd dream car...

Well, i'm glad you atleast know how to spell WS6
that orange one is HOTTTTTTTTT
GM cant use any of those, unless they got the artists permission.
Gimme the Red 2007 Concept in z28 trim ( hopefully LS2...) SOLD !

lose the 20 inch rims and it would look better. but with the price tag they are dropping, yikes. plus gm didnt abandon all RWD, you guys forget about the C6 ZO6 and the Blue devil

i think if GM dropped the vette or made it fwd they would kill all sales
If they bring back the Camaro I think it'd be too late for them to use the "retro" idea. Ford came up with the idea anyways and Chevy needs to step-up and do something original. I like the looks of that orange concept but I doubt it'll be the one they come out with. I'll be looking forward to seeing what GM can come up with. And they better bring back the Firebird or they'll never hear the end of it. The cars came out at the same time for the same reason, to compete with the Mustang. I think they shouldn't leave one in the past.

Retro is a bad design, sure it sells like hot cakes now but what do they do next? I'll be glad if GM doesnt do a retro and I doubt they will. Those orange concepts they CANT use, they didnt draw them, some random person did so they would need his consent. Bob Lutz (i think) has said the firebird IS DEAD, I've never read anywhere that the camaro was dead and never returning but I have read that about the firebird. Besides, bringing the firebird back while having the GTO would just be stupid, they would be competing with themselves, personally id rather see the GTO killed and firebird brought back.
GM for the most part has been designing overall good cars recently IMO... GM cant @!#$ this up and they know it, and I highly doubt they will.
Personally I saw a 90 IROC-Z style would look best. Always been my fave style.
And most of those renders are made by people I know, and look too much like the old old/new Mustangs...
They are coming back. At the Intergalactic Auto Show of 3058 held on the 6th moon of Jupiter. Elvis will be driving one.
