my favorite was the Camaro....that looked like it was a sweet ride.
Um, no disrespect, but are you TRYING to be an attention whore? you've had nice cars obviously, i too remember the post about your new GTO...but i was more along the lines of thinking this guy is a spoiled rich kid from hell. You've proven to be a good guy, but was showing off your string of brand new cars necessary? Wow you have had 3 brand new cars in a 2 year span, all while working in a bar at like 22 years old? good for you. Nice rides but it's all about P.A.R.E.N.T.A.L. M.O.N.E.Y. this was an unusually shallow post for you.
the post of you getting your GTO, just thought i'd jog your memory
otherwise you've never pushed your privliges before so i can respect you, and i totally love your Cobalt. i am getting one exactly like it.

I understand where you're coming from, I've stated a million time why the GTO didn't work. My dad was required by GM to buy a car every two years, the GTO took so long to arrive from australia that it was PAST the deadline, hence he bought my mom her new equinox. The only way I would have been able to afford the GTO was at his drive and buy price, which then became not an option.
My first car, the camaro was a former family car handed to me yes. And the first cav my parents helped me to get.
But the 03 cav and current cobalt SS I paid for by myself. Im 25 have a fun great job working for national bands, and I also recieve a disability check which I don't need to explain. Im paying for my own cars that's another reason I didnt get the LSD equipped SS, it was beyond my budget.
Im not craving attention, I just thought it would be neat to reflect back on the past that's all im sorry that it offended you. Im surely not a "spoiled brat rich kid" so to speak.
BORSTY- I miss the vette badly, RWD is definitely the most fun to drive. But the car was not reliable enough, and I couldn't afford two cars. (the vette was for sale for like a yr and a half before it finally sold). I do miss the car, but that's something I need to have when I have a better paying job and big garage I can keep it in and only drive it summers.
Hopefully someday I'll be able to own another vette again, I do like them alot.
My favorite car was still the 1967 camaro it's a shame it got stolen or I would still have it today.
If this post affended any others I applogize, that was not the intent. I felt others may like to look at them thats all.
LOL, The computer in the den is still logged in on that old a$$ username. Wow. Don't take it as i'm bashing you or was insulted. I reread that and that's how it sounded, sorry. just thinking wow that was rare for him to be all like "lookie at me" and remembering the GTO i was thinking dam, he's alot of nice "new" cars and what was the purpose of showing them all off here, obviously it would appear your a "rich" kid. Don't know if you are and don't care, you've never been a jerk the entire time you've been on JBO, so it's not an issue. Don't worry about not getting the LSD, looks like an option nobody can pony up to buy. i too am looking at one...but WILL not pay that rediculous overhead just to have LSD, when i know darn well it will be much cheaper in a few months when aftermarket companies start to sell it.
as i said no disrespect. just was out of character for you....kinda.

drew k: yeah that was a funny thread, nothing says spoiled than driving a solara that parents paid for. There was a guy in the same building I worked for driving one, he worked in radio and no one in this market could even afford insurance for one none the less drive one. Wish I had rich parents but Im happy with my old cars!
How many steps to heaven, Doc?
...Ah, metaphysics.
No offence...but what kind of idiotic parent gives a kid a car like that for a first car?
Lash wrote:No offence...but what kind of idiotic parent gives a kid a car like that for a first car?
I understand where you are coming form Lash. I was in shock as well at the given time being only 17 at that time.
It was my best, and favorite car that just so happened to be the first.
GM needs to bring that body style back and modernize the drivetrain, they'd sell a TON.
no i want a completely new redesign for the tran am and camaro
the past is the past. leave it that way.

I respect and admire that answer yes. But I just feel that design wise all of the auto manufacturers had the most creativity back then. Seemed like the cars had more character, maybe it's just me.

the thing is, its a classic, it would be like someone going back and modifying mozart's syhphony number 40 or changing the mona lisa. classic cars are art to me, making the same style again I feel is a disrespect to its predassesors (sp).
i do like the new stang, but.... an fbody is more special to me.
just my thoughts

Damn, I was going to say, I haven't seen that username posted in a LONG, LONG time. I was always a fan of that CRX. That inspiried my buddy to build his up to what it is today.
To be on topic, I loved that maro.
Have a good one,
Justin
I'd rather see a retro style then a body that would be disrepecting the name*cough* GTO *cough*.
