My first time at the track w/ the GTO
wasn't the fastest tiem anyone has ran but ran 13.9s two out of three runs
The last run (rained out) I ran a @!#$ty 14.5 because of wheel hop.
Hopefully next time I will be able to let her cool down more before I run her. Should help drop at least a few tenths or more.
grr
forgot the vids lol
well the first run vs the white mustang
vid one
I left the TC on at the launch whoops
then when i was trying to turn it off I hit the rev limiter in second...
yea not my day
the second vs the red mustang i had to hurry and put my helmet on and I didn't launch it so well this time
race two
not too bad. are the gto's as hard to launch as everyone says?
ehh
its touchy
the third and last run i got all kinds of nasty wheel hop
also i need to let it cool more next time
ppppppppssssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhh
who drives v8 rwd cars?
WEAK
-Borsty
short throw is the only mod
stock tire psi and everything I was going to adjust it but i never got time

they're not too bad, it's all about seat time. i was getting it down on my fourth run, but had to go after that. this was also my first time at the track so i tried many different things. next time (whenever i get the car back) im going to try 12-18psi on the tires and slipping the clutch a little more at around 3500.
how were you launching? what were your 60's? what were you trapping?
Mongoose,
I see that you got the short-throw as a mod. I personal belive that is a excellent mod to start as the stock one looks like came out of a Freightliner.
Are you looking for straitline speed or handling? You may want to look into Australia's HSV division and look for springs from their line-up.
I know for a fact these tires are not the very best out there. When I took the GTO on the the closed track the tires were reaching its limits early. I think they are All-season performance instead of summer performance, I can't remember now.
I think with a little practice in a non-public road should improve your times. Because that thing has potential.
So far as an owner, how do u like the car? (ownership expiriance)

Well, I got my Goat yesterday
And the BFGs suck major ass
Granted I still blew the doors off my buddies 04 Mustang GT
AND beat a Modded LS1 Camaro
It is SO hard to keep the tires from spinning, but if you are running a 14.5...you need some practice, Im sorry but yesterday was my first day with mine and I know I could hit a 13.9 with ease with the cars I ran against last night ( STREET RACING IS BAD!!! NEVER DO IT!! )
But yeah, Im going to get times this weekend, couldn't last night b/c our track was closed for the damn bikes
Good luck on your goat man, hit me up on AIM sometime
^^^ its easier to launch on the street, not so much wheel hop
Paco, my timeslips are in my profile
pretty @!#$ty 60' times but i only got two chances to launch and using the helmet for the first time changes things a bit
Mr. Goodwrench
I would probably go for all around performance because that is more fun
all seasons are correct, bfg kdws
I love the car, smooth ride very refined lots of go. Just some thin spots in the paint that will be taken car of under warranty
she also has a bra now
man im hoping to break in the mid to low 14's then I will be happy with my new setup. . . you guys at sea elevation suck. .LOL..

yeah, but i also have high heat and humidity
Well, it doesn't look like I'll be running this weekend either
Gotta take the car back to the dealership to have a few cosmetic issues straightened out
yeah, next week I need to have them look at the paint... several thin spots + when I got the car there was a gash in the pain from where the hood wasn't adjusted correctly

Last GTO I raced and beat ran a 15.0 LOL. He had a very BAD launch.
even on the @!#$ty slip i didnt post i trapped 100
ran 14.5 because of wheel hop, i had to let off twice
high 2.1
ill work on my launches more hopefully get into the low 13s
GTO>GT
Plus, those seats are so darn comfy!
How many steps to heaven, Doc?
...Ah, metaphysics.
Nice vids man, enjoy the car the new Goats are awesome machines and look great (despite some people claiming they don't look aggressive). Keep us posted on the mod progess as it happens!
From what I've heard on another forum (LS1GTO.com), a thicker rear bar (like SLP's) is supposed to help with wheelhop.
That being said, 13.9 first time on a stock GTO at altitude doesn't sound that bad.
I've been debating on taking mine down to NYIRP or Watkins Glen sometime...

what year is yours??? do you have the 350hp or the 400?
400 hp
and a retareded pcm to go along w/ the LS2
No matter what anyone says, until you get used to launching the car, it is VEY difficult. I've been to the track once and the best I could get for the night was a 14.0x @ 100.5MPH. Of course the Z06 that usually runs mid 12s was running low 13s. All I have is a SLP LM catback.
