In the first video, it doesn't seem like the Cobalt has very much low end torque, obviously its kinda hard to properly tell since its racing a WRX that has AWD but from what I could tell it didn't seem like it had much "get up and go" in the low rpm's. One thing is for sure, it would definetly beat my Cavalier, so I wouldn't argue with it lol.

Its like one of the Cobalts in my town, bone stock, owned by like a 40-some year old guy, and he has the nuts to go around bragging that he stayed on the rear fender of a 450-550HP Subaru STi. Lets just say that everyone that was around knew for a fact that there was no chance a stock Cobalt SS could do that.

But anyways, those are some pretty good vids, its about time some good comparison vids show up, I haven't seen many lately.

Yeah I raced an srt-4 and lost by about a car length. Out of the hole I was even ahead through second, but by third gear he pulled and passed me. We stayed about a car length apart halfway through 4th before letting off.

Im anxious to begin my motor work, but this car is hard enough to get traction in as it is so it's going to be worse than! LOL I plan on getting a lsd equipped trans through my dad sometime next year however.

The faster you go in a sti the slower it moves, so a SS can really hand to a STI or even a SLIGHTY moddified STi from a 40 or above roll, but anything lower, and the STI has too much low end power.

The WRX is tricky to launch and keep your transmission in one piece so thats why it doesn't scream out of the dig, but still gets a car or two out of the hole. All those 1.6 60ft times are with stock tire size, good tires and a tranny crushing launch.

I might know alittle about what I'm talking about considering I'm the Stage III WRX in the videos...
It's a known fact that any AWD drive car gets slower then faster it goes because of the drive train loss. A car that runs a 13.4 at close to 100 like an STI and car like the GTO that runs the same time at 107 shows the powertrain loss. A GTO and STi race from a roll, the GTO is winning hands down. Thats why a SS cobalt that runs a 14.5 can beat a stock STI from a roll even though the STI is a second faster.
