I've posted stuff about his car a few times on here, its was a built stroker motor LS1 with all the bolt ons, heads, cam, forged internals and direct port nitrous... well he had a chance to pick up the procharger SC1? blower used for $2500 so he jumped on it. Its the big blower they make for the LS1's he ran around pushing about 12 psi out of it and decieded to see what it would do cranked way up
So he get custom pulley and all that fun stuff and took it out and it would hit 28 psi at full boost, car held up for about 2 hours then the motor genaded (LOL and yes he was expecting the engine let go, its a daily driver other then winter and the engine was starting to get tired) cars sitting in the shop right now engine and transmision less (trans kinda blew up
)
just thought I'd share
pics?

28 psi from a supercharger? Thats crazy.

is he selling the kit?? is it still good..
which kit the blower kit? I doughts his still good, when the engine came apart is literally came apart, like parts smashed the hood and everything, I know the pulley on the blower took a hit from something or somehtign liek that, cause the shaft the pulley was on is really really loose.
and yeah I was surprised that it hit the high of a PSI rating but from what I've heard that blower is cabale of more then that and this was word of mouth, I don't knwo for sure that it hit that high of boost but I did see what was left of the engine afterwords. I have pis and videos of the car if anyone wants to come over and somewho get them out of the the computer that no longer turns on
Wish I had that kind of expendable income
Buy a $2500 blower just to break it.

Ouch! Although I guess he'll learn from his mistakes as everyone does.
there is a t/a that runs 7's w/a procharger system
i think its in the 30lbs range of boost
^^ the best run out of this car was a 10.2 blowing a trans on the way down the track, that was on big shot of nitrous with the built stroker engine, he never ran it boosted
I'll see what I can come up with, I know I at least have some pics somewhere on a disk I'll try to come up with the incar vid

anyone that puts that much boost thru a stock ls1 is either stupid or rich...so yea, i'm going to go with rich..
28 psi on an Ls1!!!
That would be nuts. He shoulda tried to blow up the car on a dyno instead of the street for our entertainment.

It doesn't look that way:

ok again the engine was NOT stock, it was a full forged stroker engine, he didn't not try to run that much psi through a stock engine.
and it a combanation of rich and stupid, he blew this up so he drives his brand new jeep around
yikes nm my comment then.

Ahh I see, still aluminum block though, right?
Is he gonna try an aftermarket iron block or something?
FieryOne wrote:28 psi from a supercharger? Thats crazy.
why is that crazy you can produce tons of boost with a charger it just matters what kind
my supercharger is capable of pushing out max 14psi with a new pulley but of course that is a bad idea on a stock 2200 engine. that is a v9 blower
a v1 i hear is capable of 25psi
the block itself was still stock, the bigest problem he hit is the stroker engine was built high compression, it was meant to run lots of nitrous through it, not lots of boost with a small shot to drop the air temp. The build up now is gonna be close to the same, hes doing a LS6 based 422 cid build I don't think hes gonna boost it again. This guy used to be a real good friend of mine but now its just we see eachother somewhere we'll go have a beer and bull@!#$ for a while, so the next time I get a chance I'll find out more info.
as for the pictures and vids, I got the old computer to turn on but it wont see the mouse or keyboard so its kinda useless.
