Can someone tell me GM's rarest motor and production numbers, please?
Speed costs money, how fast do you want to go?
If by "production" you mean being able to be purchased through a GM dealer, it'd probably be the L88 Corvette. I'm assuming there's well under 100 of these that ever made it to the showrooms, and I've seen numbers as low as 20. Other contenders would be the original LS1 or the DZ302.
zl1 vettes and maros, all aluminum 427 way back in 69, 500+hp
Don't steal, the government doesn't like competition
Ohhh is that the one where they lied to the goverment about HP numbers so that the cars could be produced?

That was almost all of the limited performance editions that GM put out.
I would have to say the ZL1 motors. (I have heard that only 2 were ever installed in Corvettes, and a few more in COPO Camaro's), or the turbo 3.1L engines in the early 90's Grand Prix cars. I've never even seen one of those.
Currently #4 in Ecotec Forced Induction horsepower ratings. 505.8 WHP 414WTQ!!!
Currently 3rd quickest Ecotec on the .org - 10.949 @ 131.50 MPH!!!
I would love to have a car database similar to
IMDB questions like this would be answered quickly and easily.

69 ZL1- all aluminum 427. I have the test that motor trend did on one of the ZL1 vettes at the GM proving grounds in 69, it was running high 10's in the 1/4 and it was a drop top.
2 corvettes
69-camaro's
A couple of the 91-92 firebird firehawks had 383's in them, but those were installed by slp so I dunno if you'd consider that factory.
Their was also a 57 fuel injected 347 pontiac motor thats pretty rare....As well as a chevette diesel.lol I honestly don't know.
I knew someone in high school who had a diesel Chevette......I think the car would rust apart before it quit.

yeah. maybe the turbo 4.3 in the cyclones. but i think the ZL1 takes it. the dz302 i think was only made for 2 years back in the late 60's.

That was actually an Isuzu engine, also used in P'ups and Chevy Luvs. Not exactly popular but not rare by any stretch. IIRC its actually the same block used in the LT3s on turbo sunbirds

There's never been a production 383 engine from GM. Aftermarket, (LPE, SLP, etc.) yes, leaving a GM production line, no.
