That's all the supra can throw down?
what?
3600lbs, no weight reduction at all, full interior, no nitrous, stock transmission, completely streetable daily driven
LOW 9 second car...
and you say thats all hes got?
most supras running faster than 9s are all using automatics or are trailer queens... this car is using the factory 6 speed transmission with an upgraded clutch (thats it) and drives it to the track.

Are u smoking crack or something?

Nice car, but i'm more impressed with John Shepard's Talon. Not just because I drive a talon.

apples and oranges. shep's car isn't street driven.
I'm not stealing shep's thunder, but allow me to reiterate that woon's supra is daily driven. They just had a feature on it in SCC the car has over 100,000 miles on it
here's a supra making about the same power with an auto trans
Marko auto supra5
here's a full race supra
Race supra on street tires
Talking about the first video now, Its good and everything but why did they have to put music in it? No offense to anyone who likes rap but to me it just gets annoying too easily.
Shep's Talon CAN be daily driven. Ride there that says alot. I bet theres faster supras out there in that full stock trim. Nice car and nice runs though.
I dont think people fully appreciate the type of driving skill it takes to run low 9's on a factory 6spd transmission!! There is an STi running10.2 on the stock 6 speed. While the cars are impressive, the drivers are even more.
Any retard can run fast on a 2spd PowerGlide, or a 3 or 4spd auto.

Sure its impressive, but if he really cared about how fast he was going in the quarter he woulda switched to auto by now. Auto is the best transmission out there.
Auto >>>>>> Manual

Sorry for going off topic but just for the record his talon was more of a street car when it was 9's, maybe high 8's. His new engine setup this year is race only for sure. No radiator, metanol, etc. Though when it gets all dialed in and hooked up it will be low low 8's if not slightly lower. Baddass supra for sure.

Not if you enjoy driving, and your car is not a pure drag car. Why the hell would you want to drive around in a car with a suspension/chassis built for great handling, a drivetrain built for extreme power and never have control over it.
If his Supra was a pure drag car, sure throw a granny tranny in there and run faster. But since he obviously wants to enjoy his car on the street, the 6spd is the only way to go. More props for that manual holding all that power.

Look at F1 cars, automatic with gear control. They shift to control the power but the automatic is much more consistant then if it would be a manual.
not the point of woon's supra having a 6 speed but since you want to argue...
F1 cars don't have an automatic, it's a manual
it's just electronically shifted, and the clutch is electronic as well.
automatics are very different in their construction from manuals using planetary gears and the like. I'm pretty sure the heart of an F1 car is a very high tech manual transmission.
nice try tho
oh and if anyone wants to argue what the best transmission is for drag racing, the answer is: no transmission.
Top fuel drag cars don't have a transmission, just a super hardcore clutch that slips a majority of the way down the track.
so there, thats over before its begun.
but if you're talking about cars that can't run 5s or faster, then yes autos are better since there's no time lost between shifts, but woon's car is 6 speed, he's kept it that way on purpose. His is THE fastest 6 speed street driven supra in the world.
Sry my mistake. Could have swore I read they were fully automatics. Thx for correction, now I know.
very good times.
maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow....... but some day
