3rd gen exteriors look way beter.
sounds like a fun project, very little cursing involved. Then again all the projects I do involve cursing.
How many steps to heaven, Doc?

I said exterior. With a 4th gen interior its killer.
4th gen interior swaps are almost direct.
The console and the dash edges have to be fabbed up a little bit, it takes alot of patience and accuracy, but looks good when it's done.
And honestly, I do like 3rd gen exteriors better, they stand out more where as 4th gens look like almost every other car on the road.
However, 3rd gen interiors are horrible and sloppy.
Example: The 3rd gen f-bodies used to have just lap belts in the back, there was a space for the belt to come through in the side panel, a big gaping hole, once they upgraded to shoulder/lap belts they simply left the big huge pointless gaping hole there and didn't bother to make a new piece so it would atleast look good.
The only part I do like about the 3rd gen interiors is the half-circle gauges, they look really good IMO.
