The car is a beast, no doubt. He still has to get about a half second quicker if he wants to hold the title as the fastest street legal car in the world though.
Either way, still a bad-ass Talon.
I didn't post this vid yet because once he gets the traction sorted out and gets out a better prepped track he will be dropping times into low low 8's. That trap speed is what rau was trapping in his tube chassis eclipse that was running 7.3's. Shep's in car video is amazing.
It amazing a 15 year old factory brought dsm w/ stock block/crank, mitsu manual trans and awd drivetrain can take that much power. Espcially consider he's always had one of the most reliable and consistent cars out there when he races. Plus has all the steel panels, all glass, 2500lb+ car etc. He competes versus a Gm backed car and other huge sponsership cars that are 1800lb tin can shells with drag racing automatics and he f-ing shifts that thing down the track on some mitsu metal. It looks wierd watching him race when all the other cars have huge support teams and rebuild engines quite constantly and hes at the track himself doing all testing and tuning as a one man team. Then he goes back to his day job of rebuilding trannys and running his business. He's the f-ing man.
