sadly my grandma died last month and she has gave me her house in Kansas in her will. the house is worth quite a lot and im not sure where in Kansas it is, i have been there before but not sure of where it is. yes the car will be coming over with me, along with the girlfriend whos pregnant . now all i need to know is the cost of shipping for all my belongings and the car.

Welcome to North America. I would sell off most of my stuff especially electronics as most will not work here, bring only what you really want/need. The car I am not sure I would bother either unless you want it as a show car, first Right hand drive for a daily driver is a paint in the A**, getting parts will be difficult and take time, finally how long do you really want to keep this car? It's not exactly something that you can sell for a good price over here when you no longer want it. It's your money so do what you want but I don't think it's worth bringing the car over.Just a question what are you doing for a visa? I could be wrong but I don't think you can just say I inherited a house I am coming over.

First, I doubt your car will be street legal here. You'll be able to ship it, but you'll more than likely have to go through an American importer and get the car registered as an off-road only vehicle.
Second, Electronics are more than likely going to be useless, unless you get 220-110 power converters for the stuff you want to keep
Third, Find out from your lawyers if you need to settle any taxation issues, because if it's a large estate, you may have to pay capital gains taxes in the USA.
Fourth, I'm sure that if you've made your mind up, you've already checked with the US Embassy regarding immigration policies

Hope to see you around! Just don't expect much from the beers... not much worth drinking that isn't microbrewed (if KOTL reads this, I've had a kilt lifter!!!)

Your car won't be legal here so just sell it and use the profits here to pay the estate taxes or inheritance taxes here. One other peice of advice we americans don't take lightly to Assault and Battery you'll either get thrown in jail or your ass kicked so keep your cool and Welcome.

To be street legal here it would have to be labeled either a kit car or off road car unless he wants to ante up the money to reinforce the crashability and emissions. It could cost a few hundered or several thousands.
