How many steps to heaven, Doc?

and to quote anoter article:
"John Shepherd has been drag racing Talons since 1994. His first talon set and held records for years by running 11.8 with a small 16g in stock appearing form and running 10.9 with a 20g in full street trim. Knowing that he had the need for speed, he purchased his 91 talon to take over and never look back. He has managed to run an incredible 9.8@ 148 using street radial tires. "
and as for streetable:
"For real-world performance and practicality--after all, isn't that what production vehicles are all about? The most impressive cars are the ones that run sick numbers at the track, then drive off the asphalt, onto the street and all the way home without so much as having their wheels changed. Such is North Lawrence, Ohio resident, John Shepherd's, claim to fame. His car, the 1991 Eagle Talon pictured, is used as a sometime daily driver but remains capable of turning high 9s down the quarter mile, without any track-day modifications and on the same street radials that get Shepherd to and from work. It is, in fact, the first street-class car to run in the 9s since the IDRC changed its rules to allow only radial tires in competition."
impressive car nonetheless.
^^ Thanks paco, beat me to it. NA or turbo. WHen you run a 9sec 1/4 and drive home without so much as changing your tires, does it really matter whether its turbo or NA. THats freakin fast.

pretty sure he could have ran regular 93 (or you west coasters 91) octane when he was 11s with the 16g. probably could have ran it too with less boost on the 20g running 10.9s. that's the beauty of turbos; don't have the right octane, turn the boost down.
