Grand Am/Alero new rims

Hey folks...

I have a 2000 Alero GLS sedan, and I've been looking (rather, drooling profusely) over a set 22" rims for the car.

Assuming I had rubberband (ie 35/40 aspect ratio tires) what's the largest rim I could have on the car?

Oh.. Also, has anyone had experience directly bolting on a 5 x 114.3 bolt pattern on to the 5x115 pattern hub?

Do you have to get hubcentric rings?

It will not work, unless you have something to convert the lug pattern to match the other lug pattern.

Why is it that I've seen and heard of doing this... we're talking 7/10ths of a milimeter here.

gam even if it slides on and is a little off when you bolt the wheel down the lug nut is not touching all of the wheel. It will only be holding a little part of it. Now if you want to put your life in ur hands by riding in a vehicle that doesnt have the right wheels then go right ahead.

HAH! I don't recall asking for opinions....

I was looking at these Rims from a 300M, but after careful reading, they're WAAAAY too little offset anyhow.

I was asking about the Size mainly because I wanted to know if even 19's would work... I was looking to go with maybe 18's and 35/40 tires and lowering. If I had to, I could go with the 5x114.3's, they aren't reccommended, but they will work with hubcentric rings.

I belong to Aleromod and GrandAM GT, and even N-body.net, but I didn't feel like waiting for a week.

I know how you feel about the slow responses on N-body . But yea I'm about to put 19s on my malibu which is about the largest you'd want to go on a N-body. I've seen 20s done and in some situations have heard they caused rubbing and in others they didnt. Add me on AIM sometime, it'd be good to have a fellow N-body owner to actually talk to.

hehe.. no AIM on my Computer... No MSN either. I'm too cool for that stuff

Really, I do work on my new PC, so I try not to get distracted. N-body was great, but now it's faliing into disrepair. I know Gimli (he actually lives around here) had it for a while, but it's not as good as it was.

I'd use GrandAmGT.com but I don't remember my pass word... and it's a good bit of hassle.

I got a set of 18" rims on my 01' GAGT1, 5x115 bolt pattern, 8 inch wide. I'm running 225/40/18's.

I've seen 20's on a GA before and it looked nasty.

Hope you can at least view the replies..
