Well I love the looks and feel of the Celica and the Spec V but they just dont do as well to mods as others. Plus insurance is killer and they really aren't that fast.

I wouldn't touch a lancer unless it was an evo. Just....yea Evo or nothing.

Eclipse, depends on the year. If you are talking about one of the really new ones they are HOT!

The GTI you can mod like crazy same with the SRT-4. Make them real fast real easy. The SRT-4 is pretty quick right out of the box.

Mazda 6 - ehh i'm not too impressed with all all.

Civic I wouldn't touch either unless it was an Si. You can do a LOT with them. But i'd go with an RSX over a civic.

Overall, I'd probably choose either the eclipse or the SRT-4, or GTI. Probably the GTI because boost is awesome and too many people are sporting an SRT-4.

I'm suprised you didn't throw in the Cobalt SS

oh and i was looking at the acura rsx type s ... but i think the insurance would be too much . and is the insurance high on the volswagon gti?? and the srt-4 ?

Yes on both. Use to be pretty cheap on the SRT-4 but there are a lot of them being wrecked by young kids so its pretty high and rising from what I hear.

if i were to choose, id choose the mazda 6 but id wait for the MPS version thats coming out. The only car in that group that would be faster than it would be an evo

I'd get the SRT-4, although when I was looking at them I couldn't find any under 23k...either that or get a used Evo (my bro just picked one up for about 22,900)

Wait until Wednesday and get the SRT-4. Starting on Wednesday Chrysler is going to be offering the same Employee Discount pricing deal that GM ends tomorrow. They're all great cars, but with the money that you save on the car payment you may be able to afford the insurance.

u do have a point saint ... i really like the srt-4 too ..... its a 4 door so the insurance can't be that bad . ..... the quote i got is ..... bout 420 a month ..... but what yall think insurance would be ? on my sunfire it was 300 a month can't be more then that huh ??
Re: buying a new car

Usually the Quote is a good idea for what the insurance cost is going to be. Based on what you're paying on your Sunfire $420 a month sounds about right, since I've been through this before.

Re: buying a new car

but this is the thing . the car note itself is 164.98 exactly a month and insurance now is 209.68 exactly .... so if i added those together it wouldn't equal the cost of the car by itself .... i want somethin to be my daily driver wit alittl go cause i probl gonna be pullin the motor out my car and building it up ... but i wanted a good reliable and relativly quick car . srt 4 is the car i always wanted ever since they came out . my dream car is a bmw m3. but from what i hear the srt 4 is nothin like a regular neon . they come from the factory fast .. reliable ... and they have performance mods that keep the car still under warrentee. u can't beat that . i keep it for lets say 6 years ... and i have warrante on it for that long ... so i think it would be the bet thing to go for the srt-4 right off the back cause its a awesome base car to mod ... i don't care what anyone says . a lot of people say but its a neon .. but thats not true. doge came a long way ..... i would rather the motor in the srt-4 more then mine in my car and to be honest i would trust the srt-4 more then my car any day ... what yall think l.

If you are going to get the 4 cylinder Mazda 6, go with the Mazda 3 with the 2.3 ( I think this is it) because mazda 3 does have a better rating than the 6. Other than that, SRT-4 is good.

It sounds like you haven't thought this out fully. Dude, you have to do a lot of number crunching, I'm going through the exact same thing right now, thinking about trading in the Durango for Hemi Ram. You need to get an insurance quote for the cars you're looking at buying, www.progressive.com, www.esurance.com, and www.geico.com are all the ones that I've used. Then you need to figure out how much the car payment is going to be every month, use the Payment Calculator on the various manufacturer's website, that will give you an idea of how much dealer financing will cost. Then you need to figure out how much you make a month, and subtract all your current bills from that, minus your current car bill and insurance, since the bank won't approve you for a loan if you already have one. Then if you can still comfortably afford to pay for the car and the insurance, then go out and buy it, if not, it's ok that you don't get it right away. This is my 3rd time going through this exact same situation, I know what it's like to have to work 70 hours a week to afford a vehicle and be broke once the insurance and car payment is made, I also know what it's like to only have $100 left over to last for 2 weeks. When I bought both the Sunfire and Durango I ran into those problems, and it took me 4 years to learn to think things out. As much as I'd love to get a new Ram right now, if the deal isn't good enough I'm gonna stay with the Durango.

You're still young, take it easy and don't rush into any decisions. I know exactly what it's like to be you right now, I was there. I'm not trying to preach, and I'm not telling you not to buy the car, I'm just saying think it through. I honestly do hope that you can afford whichever car you want, but you're only 20 it's ok if you don't have the newest Gee-Whiz car on the market.

If you really wanna have fun...get something RWD...like an F-body, or a 240SX.

There is nothing cooler than breaking loose those back tires, and watching the smoke roll off them...nothing.

And the best part is, if you buy one used, you are gonna have less insurance, and more money for mods...

If you go for a Civic, wait for the 2006, it seems like it might be fast.
Don't get a Lancer.
2006 Eclipse looks allright
Toyota Celica is in it's last year of production, so it's now or never on that one
Mazda 6 is fabulous, it's beautiful, the V6 5spd is quite fast, and it's not too common (at least where I live)
GTI seems pretty sweet
teh sentra is also nice, but not the best of your choices
the SRT-4 definately has it's good sides, but it just has no appeal to me anymore, not sure why.

my choice would definately be a Mazda6 5door, V6 5spd, in orange. I just think it is one of the best looking cars out there.

seriously dude, you better have a clean ass record.
Insurance at your age is gonna rape unless you are still part time and under your parents.

srt-4.... it's a neon, they break

spec-v- garbage. they're fricken awesome to drive, but they're made like @!#$ on the interior.. th elil plastic knobs broke and fell off.. really cheaply made (i had one)

i'd get the 6 or the gti, personally. not the lancer.

but if i were gonna spend that kind of money, i'd just buy the new mustang GT. those are sexy.

I'm tellin' Uncle Ben!! You stole his RICE!!

dont listen to this @!#$ bag. the SRT4 has been around for 2 years, it is NOT a neon. who knows what it will do.
