Well here is one of the better pics....Not sure what all the yellowish white lines are? There were no cars on that road...maybe a sign?

Bwahahaha.

Either turn the flash on, or invest in a tripod buddy. You didn't over-expose anything, the camera simply just left the shutter open too long and it will blur anything that moves when the shutter is open. The shutter is being left open because there is not enough light to capture an image, so the sensor will leave your shutter open longer to allow more light to enter the camera while the shutter is open.

The only decent pics are when you're NOT holding the camera and it's on the floor. This is because obviously the camera is not moving, so there is nothing to blur at all.

Are the foglights really that color at night? Or did you change them out?

Wanna trade cars?

If you're using a digital, the automatic metering system sucks at night if there isn't enough ambient light to get the CCD to automatically get the best picture.

Most digitals have a "half-click" where you can pre-meter and it'll register the settings for you before you take a shot... it'll usually beep or give you a visual ok.

That's the best way to avoid crumby focus and over exposures.

BTW, the squiggly in the pic with the boost gauge is the effect of your PULSE through your hands... the shutter is open for too long and your pulse makes the camera vibrate just enough to cause this effect.

My advice: Tripod. you can get a cheesy one (like 3") from best buy, or get a decent one from a photographic supply store (STAY AWAY FROM BIG BOX STORES for real photographic equipment) for about $100.
