"Including other brands made by the group, VW passed the 100 million mark in September 1999. Production of all its units -- VW, Skoda, Bentley, Bugatti, Audi, Seat, Lamborghini and commercial vehicles -- surpassed 125 million last year."

Just becuase they made 100 million cars doesn't necessarily mean they were good cars.

Notice the other cars that the company makes.
Volkswagon group is different than the wha??
So... Gm is different than Chevrolet/Pontiac etc?
Granted they don't use the luxuries or plants of some of the more expensive stuff...but still

Where is it written that these are good cars? They are only nice and expensive cars. I've personally heard horror stories about the reliability of Lambos, for example.

I personally like my 1983 vw rabbit gti a lot.

I love VWs, have worked on 3 total, including installation of upgrade turbos and maintenance, yes theyre a bitch to work on and yes often they crap out...I still love them.
I could work at a cookie factory.
I could put poop instead of chocolate chips.
I could make 100,000,000 cookies all with poop chips.
They're made, but poop chips aren't good.
HAHAHA!
I don't think I'll eat a cookie for a week, just for that image.

...Ah, metaphysics.
I think they're nice cars, and I hear VW's handle quite well,
but I would be weary to own one past its lease period. My
buddy is a mechanic at a local used car lot, and they're in
the middle of replacing a water pump off a 2000 2.8L
Passat -- it's a complete horror story. The entire front end
has to be removed just to access the parts. Its quite sad...

Typical VW / Audi design.
In order to replace the turbos which were prone to breaking in the previous bi-turbo S4's, the whole engine needs to basically be pulled.
I have owned a vw...and will never own another....put way to much money repairing that thing.
VW's are like jaguars....if your going to own one...get 2...cuz ones always gonna be in the shop
