Which 3 series is it? I think the only 5 year old 3 series I might pay that much for is a 330Ci.

^^^ 323Cic
I'm not familiar with BMW's so can someone explain to me more about this car! (example: performance, options and so on) Thanks!

I would never pay more than private party worth on kbb. Kbb is very liberal when it comes to car prices, typically they quote high. I would say that for any 3 series that's 5-6 years old.... i wouldn't go higher than 19-20k, but I'm not really knowledgable with BMW's.

^ do you have pics??
I'll try to get it for $22,000 or less. The reason Im intrested is that the car is practically new and not used or beat up at all. I will do some searching to see if there are better deals out there.
"Remember do what you like because you have to drive it."--Me
whatever. the auto is a 5spd sportshift so there is plenty
of fun to be had; you can always get an M3 steering wheel
paddle shift upgrade. www.bmw-paddleshift-retro.com.
I know that there is a plethora of bimmer tuners. hamann
makes a 3.2L 265hp displacement kit among other tuning
options. Of course, I can't imagine tuning a bmw is within
a layman's pocketbook.
Obviously we ALL want an m3, but realistically, I would
choose a 2001 325cia (I hate convertibles, and they are
too heavy; moreso, the 2001 2.5 i6 was bumped to 184hp)
Here are some specs on the 323
Horsepower: 170 hp @ 5500 rpm
Torque: 181 ft-lbs. @ 3500 rpm
Drive Type: RWD
Automatic: : 17 mpg / 24 mpg
Curb Weight: 3560 lbs
I'm an e46 fanatic

tasty !!! now you can match a bimmer with your personality:
you can go with a slow and classy (and obviously pampered) e46
or a mind-shattering e36 M3 behemoth.

It ain't worth much if you are still paying for your new home.
Think about all the costs involved beyond the purchase price.

I must agree.
... think priorities. think beyond-purchase costs
am I an e46 fanatic? yes !!!
could I afford a bimmer now? sure
do I want to deal with the maintenance fees? nope
can my money be better spent today? yes.
I'm a firm believer that everything has its time and
place. If you are a diehard bmw fan -- you will own
one once you resolve your pressing priorities.

i dont care if its a BMW or what, for that kinda money you could get a brand new RSX, Coablt ss s/c, fully loaded accord coupe, 2004 GTO, hell you can even get a used porshe boxster for that much damn money.....
no way in hell id buy it, but hey its up to you

^^ even more true. I have heard that maintenance is extremely costly.
So I will have to put my BMW dreams on hold. I also thought about it, I would eventually be kicking my @$$ for not getting a stick or the actual BMW that I want. So the key is "Good things come to those who wait."
Thanks JBO members!

I have the same mindset as you man. One day I would like to have a newer e46 m3 in my garage.
Have a good one,
Justin
If she is 60 years old and she is selling a BMW for 24,500.00......then one of her kids is involved and is telling her to sell it for that much.

The other thing you have to consider is interest rates. Right now I believe they are near historical lows. Depending on your mortgage term, your payments may increase in the future.
The other thing to consider is the return you could get on the money if you invested in something other than a BMW. Say, just for example, a rental property, or shares of IBM, Microsoft, or a mutual fund.
Better to invest now, and then buy the BMW with the return on your investment. Of course by then you may realize that a BMW (or any German car) isn't all that practical really.
BTW - nice Z24. Very tastefully done.

^ yep I have a five year arm so after five years I have to refinance and (fingers crossed) the intrests rates wont be to killer!

^ true, actually I thought of getting the BMW because I have rented out the bottom half of my house. I'm getting $700 a month from a guy that just got divorced. But I am going to use that money to help pay my mortgage faster instead of getting a BMW.
