Gotta love the feeling of a new car, even if it is used
Just picked her up this morning, i'm thrilled with it. At around $3,000 under blue book value, we couldn't pass it up. The interior almost looks brand new except for the radio area. It's a '99 with about 103,000 miles, which is just broken in for a Subaru
It's got all kinds of options - power windows, power locks, heated seats (high & low), heated mirrors, cruise, tilt, adjustable driver's seat (height & lumbar).... but no freakin floor mats
I'll be making a run out later to get some.
Before someone says something, i think the aim is off on the cam, the left side of many pics is cut off
Eh well, on with the pics!
all 3 of our cars, tight squeeze, but it works
My two cars, first time i've owned 2!
Back seats in great shape
Cargo area
It's got a privacy shade, it comes right out though for full clearance to the back seats
Under the plastic mat is carpet, under there is this tray & under the tray is the spare
Center console, buttons for the heated seats & mirrors
Dash
Only thing wrong on it is this dent on the back bumper, it's about as round as a baseball. Meh, i can overlook it.
Front door panel
Front end
Front seats
Shot of the cargo area from the inside
Mudflaps!
Side
Roof rack
A cool little spot to hide the rear seatbelt stuff
I really like the wheels
If anyone wants to see something closer or whatever, i have pictures 50% larger that i can email or post
congrats, looks hottt

Thanks everyone, glad to hear some compliments. Both of my parents just got to see it, and in the words of my mom, "Wow, yeah. I think you've got a good car there."

They said the timing belt was already done. It does however need brakes.
All you need is a rainbow sticker!
Looks clean... Will MTA ever get to drive it?
Skip says I have Frotteurism... I say I just thrust my hips at strangers.
Very nice....after seeing that-it makes me think about trading my wagon for an awd
wagon like that....hmmm..
Good choice in color too.....

He drove it to work this morning, so that's a yes. As i'm talking to him in chat now, he tells me the spedometer died. Ironic? Hmm... we'll see how often he gets to drive it.
Actually he linked me to a Soobie forum where there are several people whose '99 also has speedo issues, so this is probably just a common thing like Cav dash crack.

AWD is AMAZING! This is the first AWD i drove & it's just so sure-footed and responsive. When i go to avoid something on the road like a hole, it just zips around like nothing even though it's so big. This wagon also has 165hp/163 torque, so combine that with 4 wheels moving together and i'm really not let down on speed. My brother's house has a steep stone driveway that gives a lot of cars problems, you'll get half way up and start spinning tires & have to back down to get a better running start - but yesterday i had to go up there & the wagon shot up like the driveway was paved & flat! It was amazing, i barely heard rocks move as i went over them. The trip to his house is pretty hilly and twisty too & i was flying around corners WAY faster than in my Sunfire.
As for color, i do like it. Kinda fun having 2 black and 1 white car here
I've owned white before and wasn't a fan due to all the dirt that ends up on the bottom half, but Subaru has that covered with the 2-tone thing. The mud flaps should help keep some of the crud off the bottom too. The model of our Outback was actually only available in white, it's an SSV, Special Service Vehicle that was available only to fire, police and other public safety and emergency agencies. Too bad it doesn't come with a light bar
It was a one year special-order, so i somewhat feel like we've got a rare-ish car. The specifics are
here.
have mta drag race it
-Borsty
Put the white car in the middle of the two black cars and you got yourself a oreo. lol
Congratulatons. Now take it on a Baja course!
Good thing you didn't get an SUV, when there are cars like this, there is no need for one.
Good choice, those cars are solid performers.
Get a GPS nav and you are set for an adventure. Happy trails!

If anyone is going to drag it, it'll be me! It's auto, so no different than my Sunfire

Baja course as in the streets of the city?
Some areas are really nasty & i'm taking them a bit faster than in the Sunfire. With the 7.3" of clearance, i'm not so worried about hitting the ground. That's all the baja i need for a car i don't wanna break
We were considering a Blazer until we spent some good time in MTA's sister's Blazer. It just rides too "truck" and bounces all over the place. The car-like ride can't be beat on the Outback! That also means we won't have to help the dog down or lift things super high when we load them.
And as my dad said yesterday while i was showing him all the cool things (there's an extra outlet in the cargo area!)- "What are you, a salesperson?"
