2006 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Sedan

First of all, sorry about the quality. I had to image capture from the website and paste it into PowerPoint to capture just the part that I wanted to. I have so many restrictions on my computer (work cpu) that it was the best I could do.

Anyways, can anyone confirm this information? (IE, look of the car, options that are listed, etc.)

<img src="http://www.ronus20.com/Misc/Cobalt Invoice/CobaltOptions1.jpg"> </img>
<img src="http://www.ronus20.com/Misc/Cobalt Invoice/CobaltOptions2.jpg"> </img>
<img src="http://www.ronus20.com/Misc/Cobalt Invoice/CobaltOptions3.jpg"> </img>
<img src="http://www.ronus20.com/Misc/Cobalt Invoice/CobaltOptions4.jpg"> </img>
<img src="http://www.ronus20.com/Misc/Cobalt Invoice/CobaltOptions5.jpg"> </img>

I know I've seen the picture of this car on these forums before, but I don't remember a reference to this car being the actual car that GM will be selling. And yes, I did read the caption underneath the photo, which is why I'm asking if someone has confirmation if that's what the car will look like or not. And I'm not looking for a "that's probably not going to be what the car looks like" because that doesn't answer my question, I am looking for SOMEONE WHO CAN CONFIRM 100% if that is what it will look like or not

Don't expect the body to look like that, although it will have the V V T 2.4

I saw a fleet of test vehicles drive by me the other day here in Michigan. One was the new HHR, the other was the GTP G6 all badged up, then they had a cobalt sedan with the ss coupe front and rear clip drive by me. Not saying that was a production model, but it would seem likely to me that GM would re-use these parts instead of molding sedan specific SS parts. However I do wish that they would make it like the one above.

We'll have to wait and see...

Oh, and it's not one pic, it's 5 pics

But anyways, when I first heard of this car, it was supposed to be automatic only, so its nice to see there be a 5 speed option.

But I guess I'll continue to wait.

nice. i thought they were only gonna made in autos. it woudl be insteresting to do an "ls vtec" with my eco in that. since the cobalt ecu wont run our cars with the electronic throttle and all, i wonder if cavalier ecu would run it, use an apexi vtec controller..

Well for 06 there are gonna be SS coupes and sedans (2.4L ECO only, "sport suspension" manual/auto..etc) then there will be the Cobalt SS/SC as it currently stands now...LOL...

I beleive you mean a "frankenstine" & not ls/vtec

Is it me or is Chevrolet already trying to bleed the Cobalts for all they are worth. I just got finished looking at the 2006 Chevrolet Cobalts on one of those GM Dealer pages or what not and I'm just amazed that power windows, power locks, cruise control and power mirrors are not even offered standard on the LS models (since they are getting ride of the "base" models...not hardly), I mean they are not even available as options, what's wrong with that picture. I mean I'm glad that there some new options being offered on the higher end models (such as 4 wheel disc brakes on the SS Coupe and Sedan) but for a car this day and age not even have power windows and locks as standard or optional accessories (especially on an LS trim) is just ridiculous.

I mean let's not kid ourselves...the future 2006 Cobalt LS models are the 2005 Cobalt Base models of present. I'm guessing the execs at Chevrolet are thinking that if they slap an LS badge on a base model...some simpleton will think they are getting a
high(er) end car at a low price...meanwhile that vehicle will be the only LS model in the Chevrolet line to not even come with the aforementioned power options or accessories...

Don't get me wrong, I love the Cobalts and still am considering getting one sometime in the future...but to see they way they are trying to stretch some features on some trims while excluding many on other trims is just mind boggling.

Sorry man, but not all of us want power windows and power locks, I can't stand having to put my key in the car everytime I want to open or close the window, I wish the supercharged cars came without it. That is one of the many things I look for in cars when I buy them, because I just cant' stand it. But yes they should atleast be optional for some people, I just don't want them to be standard ever. and I really wish stuff like that wasn't standard on the higher end cars, same with A/C, another thing I can do without. I don't even use my vents for the heat in my car. Never have, never will, even though some passengers complain

That whole trim level change I don't quite understand, other than to try and convince people that they're getting a more upscale model than they actually think they are. It seems like a marketing ploy.

I think the base model should be the stripped down model with optional door locks, windows, etc.

The only standard features that I think should be included in every car is air conditioning, and ABS.
