In this test, they compared it to the Mustang GT and 350Z. Let me say, the Mitsu hanged on with them pretty well too. As heavy as it is (don't like that one bit) I amazed.
Personally I like the look of it, because it looks like no other car out there, it is unique, and performance numbers are not to shabby either.

wow those are some pretty good numbers
wow, I am impressed with those stats.
I admit the first time I saw that car it didn't appeal to me much but it is growing on me now. I enjoy the rear end of the vehicle the most, it has that Audi TT inspired look to it.
Have a good one,
Justin
Wow, didn't think they would go with that design but yet they are now lets see if they go with this set up looks good to me....
Is there going to be AWD version? That would be even cooler
cool, very cool. that's faster than the turbo models, i believe.
i'm with justin - when i first saw it, i didn't like it so much, but it's starting to look pretty good now.

I think so too, I remember reading an article about Motor Trend pulling a 14.8 in the later year first gen GSX's. I am not sure on the second gens though.

i saw one of those at the autoshow but it looked dumb IMO. but its starting to grow on me it really is. A base price of 23,000. Mmm thats nice. With a trap speed of 101MPH, im sure that car will do 13's stock.

Wow I really like that minus a the front bumper, Im sure with aftermarket support that car could look mean. I think mitsubishi will do well with the new Eclipse.
the front im not sold on, but everything else looks pretty good
damn thats cheap for that car. and yes its faster stock than other eclipses but wont take as well to mods. but a damn sexy car. still wouldnt buy one though.

And yes it would!
But... As of now there will not be a AWD version. Since the this platform (PS) is also shared with the Galant and Endeavor SUV and the Endeavor can be had with AWD. So with that being said, this platform has room for AWD. Will Mitsu really offer AWD on the Eclipse? If so, I see some sales going away from the EVO 9. So I dought it as of now. But we can be optimistic and hope for AWD.
I myself is looking for AWD or atleast RWD. I can't take FWD anymore. So Mitsubishi please make it AWD too.

They have a few touring different mitsu dealerships right now. My uncle got to take it for a drive at the dealership he works at. He was ranting and raving about it being one of the best cars hes driven in a long time. He said it was seriously one of the best cars hes ever driven??(and hes driven everything). I couldn't believe it. He said it is sweet in person and very luxurious. Also felt very fast and smooth.I dunno?? Got me interested but maybe he was confusing it w/ a benz or something the way he was ranting about it
Its faster stock then the older ones for sure, though w/out awd/rwd and a strong boosted engine it just doesn't have the potential of the old ones. Mitsu won't cut into the evo's territory. Though give the new 4g a drop and wheels and it will look great!
pretty gauges.
YEAH I WENT PREMIUM. SO BITE ME!
That futuristic concept tlook of 10 years ago is finally materializing. I lovwe the way it looks. Great lines

OK, so I guess I'm going to be the only one that says that it's overweight, bloated, ugly, and just plain hideous.

^^^^ u forgot overpriced.. but yea you pretty much summed it up.
It is a beast (weight wise). I wonder what that engine weighs.
And I don't see it cutting into Evo sales either. 2 totally different marketing segments.
2003 Lancer Evolution VIII

Damn you people just realized weight?
But even with the hefty weight, it gets the job done. I think it's amazing.
Like I said before, I don't like weight one bit.
As I said, (if) it was (AWD) it would cut into EVO 9 sales. For the people that gotta have that coupe profile, will go to the Eclipse if both had AWD.
As of now Eclipse FWD and Evo 9 AWD, no cut in sales for the Evo.

The trap speed of 101 seems a little high for only a 14.4.
Something there seems fishy.
As far as styling, eh, not my thing at all.
Other than consideration for an EVO, there is no way i'd buy a mitsu anyway. The company has been on a perpetual downslide for quite some time now.
Nice Road and Track Find
It is a good issue and article.
For its higher weight it performed very well.
