And I think the Ion looks better than the Cobalt does, plus you get the polymer panels too..

Discuss this with darkstars once...funny stories

Darkstars wrote:yeah but when you toss a cantelope at it as hard as you can, instead of denting it, it just puts a big ass hole in the door

What I like about plastic is that it shatters when you hit it when its cold.

Agreed!
I rather have polimer panels over the 1mm- dent prone steel panel. They are lighter and dent resistent, and easier to fix in case of an accident. People are stupid enough to believe that the steel panels will protect then better in a accident. Those panels (polimer, fiberglass, steel, stainless steel, carbon fiber, etc) are only there for contour and aerodynamics not in any shape or form of safety.

I wish those Saturn SLs and SCs were back with these Higher output engines.

Nah, you're pretty cool.. But those last 2 comments were pretty ignorant..
Let's say I did throw a cantelop and made it a hole.. Well, that same cantelope would have dented the panel so far in, it would have had to be replaced anyways.. Frig, a shopping cart can put a nice size dent in my cavalier, I'd hate to see what a cantelope would do.. But a shopping cart against polymer panels won't do any damage, except maybe scratch the paint..

The door panel Borsty, not the frame. Don't measure the side of the door as it tends to be rolled therefore thicker.
If you were to cut in the center of the panel, it is 1mm and very most 2mm thick.

Exactly.. Which is my if I push hard enough with my finger tip, it'll dent.. Where the polymer ones come right back out normal.. And the crash ratings for the ion are about the same as the cobalt, so the plastic panels have nothing to do with safety.. Pure ignorance..
