I just came across this post on srtforums.com. The guy that is comparing the two cars owns one of each. So I would say you can't get a better opinion on the two then that.

Srtforums.com also has the Cobalt SS on there home page I though that was pretty cool. EVen though it looks like Cobaltss.com and srtforums.com is managed by the same person.

hmm yea thats pretty much what alot of the mags said about it so far....
a tad slower then an srt4 but overall a better car
motor trend said that too. i would take a SS over a SRT-4 anyday. the SRT-4 is a fancy word for a turbo neon haha. jk. all fairness, the SRT-4 is a cool car, but im not much of a MOPAR fan and the SRT-4 doesnt tickle my fancy as much as the Cobalt SS

It blows my mind that the Cobalt SS got more respect in that SRT-4 forum than it does here.... just goes to show ya.
the srt-4 did when it first came out
but now there are alot of them out
i remember the first year they were only making 10k cars
Humm, good review.

We just know better, we don't go by propaganda and instead we see and comment at things as how it is, without our emotions taking the better of us, atleast some of us.
Maybe if you actually read the post you would realize that there was no "propaganda" whatsoever
. The guy has driven both cars and posted an accurate review based on his personal experiences. It was unbiased, and as the others said, it is basically the same thing that Car and Driver, Motor Trend, and other professional reviews have said.
Of course your joke of a "review" bashed the car as if it was worse than the Cavalier, but you have no credibility anyway, so I suppose it really doesn't matter.

um i think they were talking about the srt-4 gets more respect here then on there boards. or something
mountian dew is godly.

I have respect for both cars, but IMO a sporty coupe wins over a sedan in my books
If they had a two door srt, that would be a hard pick.

dude you are just a cry baby.
Ive test driven both cars. the srt owns the cobalt as far as speed. as far as braking and handleing i couldnt even tell much of a difference (but we'll give it to the cobalt so you dont call me a "moron". the interior is pretty even i think, they both suck.
the looks of the srt are better than the cobalt, but lets not go there. so in my personal review with not owning either car, and not planing on owning either car, i say the srt is better. YAY PUT MY REVIEW IN A MAGAZINE. wait since i didnt favor the cobalt your gonna flame it up and down, get a life and stop crying.

That's because people on there have actaully driven the Cobalt SS

The guy who commented does OWN both cars:
He said the SRT is faster.
But he likes his cobalt better overall. He has his reasons, you don't have to agree with them.
Even i admit i didn't think an SRT owner would say that he likes the cobalt better, that's got to count for something.
I know the cobalt isn't perfect (neither is the SRT) but i thank the auto industry for producing them both, they make the streets more fun to drive on. They give people a chance to drive something a little more than a slow econobox. They both serve their purpose.

wow its amazing how it can go from appreciation to fighting.
Both cars are great leave it at that. It all comes down to personal preference. I like a raw feeling car. Could it be more refined sure, but then it wouldn't be what it is.
As for the review Ray will be one of the guys tuning the SS he knows his ish. His opinion is valued. He's as unbiased as they come from what I have seen. No more fighting.

DUDE!!!!! You are more of a crybaby!!! Wahh!! Go away useless troll...
You never have anything useful to contribute, everything is always negative, and then you make stupid comments like "both interiors suck dick"
Last time I checked inanimate objects weren't capable of "sucking dick" - its pretty obvious that your intelligence level is that of a small animal, and your "opinons" are about as valuable as the rest of your semi-retarded posts.

^ I will speak for my self, that I have track tested a SS and two sedans on Nov 2004 in press launch for Miami. Did it all on these cars, so I for one have reason to comment.
You've told us that about a hundred times. We KNOW you "drove the car". It doesn't make any difference though, because you are so biased against it that you wouldn't give it a good review even if it was perfect in every aspect. Its a moot point.
Anyhow good post Kyle Kyle, I agree both cars are great - but people ^^^ like to cause trouble by acting like one car is so much better than the other. No wonder this site doesn't get any respect, with people acting like such @!#$s when we try to have an intelligent discussion (Kyle Kurtz).

this thread is turning to @!#$ quick
Yep...
I think both cars have earned respect each in there own way. That is all that matters.
Personaly, I like them both.
I'm not into bashing cars...I let my driving do the Talking...
Seriously grow up guys. Both cars have their ups and downs. Again IT"S NOT WHAT YOU DRIVE BUT HOW YOU BUILD IT. Both cars have potential, it's all personal preference.
The srt-4 wins in the quarter mile. But the power delivery between the two is very different, personally, I feel the ss cobalt is better out of the whole enjoyment wise.
Mid to end track it's a different story, when the srt-4 pulls top end it's like a go cart with a turbo it pulls with ease.
But tune both engines and they can be comparably competitive. The cobalt SS handles slighty better stock, although it feels a little "heavier" if you will, it still reacts with more confidence IMO. But the Srt-4 and Cobalt SS are close enough in skidpad tests that with the right springs, shock, swaybars, etc, this advantage is equaled instantly.
My personal opinion is that for a market once dominated by imports, it's nice to see two domestic manufacturers leading the entry small car market in terms of performance, I have hat's off to both of them.
Although I still wish they would have turbo'd the ecotec...
If it makes you guys feel better they are both built here...
^^
ture
but its better than nothing
right?
