Trading the Talon

Well I bought my 91 N/T eagle talon about a month ago. Haven't really dont anything to it yet except replace a CV Joint and put in a CD player. This lot right out side of my base i'm stationed at just had a really clean 95 Civic Ex 5-speed pop up. They want 5grand for it. But they said we can work that down a lot plus a military discount. They are also going to give me 1400 for my car. I'm thinking about doing it because I really like the body style of the Civic Coupe. Plus I do like Honda's and I love how they are like lego's. Everything is interchangeable (Not everything but you know what I mean).

Going to go tomorrow after work and see what I can work out. I'll try and get some pictures. What do you guys think? I wouldn't really lose money on this deal. I would lose like 50 bux but i've been driving the car around so no big deal. Its red with the Si style spoiler. It has gay chrome fender flares and blackouts. I could remove those easy though.

DO NOT EVER BUY A CAR FROM A DEALERSHIP RIGHT OUTSIDE OF BASE you will get screwed, almost guaranteed. If you get lucky and get a good car you will get screwed on the financing, or like most people you will get screwed on the vehicle and on the financing.

Take this from an NCO in the Marine Corps, the first thing that we tell New Joins is to never buy a vehicle from out in Oceanside, because they know exactly how much you make and how much you can afford, and may make the car payment so high that you can't afford to insure or put gas in the vehicle, or both. It's the best advice I can give you as far as buying a car just near a base, go far away from base to buy a car.

Yella02-I promise I will return to you in one piece and this will stay up until I am safely home

I wasn't going to finance through the lot. Was going to go through the credit union I have. As far as buying from a lot outside the base....thanks for the advice. However, its a pretty popular lot and I have heard no complaints. We get so many new people in with signing bonuses that we actually have a list of lots that have treated everyone good, unheard of, and the ones that are known for ripping people off. Its been around for years. This car lot is highly recommended.
