???
That thread is over 3 months old.
IT may be a super old repost, but safety first guys. We don't want any members of the org dieing while driving their ford gt.
actually i saw all the design that went into the GT, and it truly has a lot of amazing stuff in it. the reason that one suspension part is failing is not because of bad design, its probably just because of a bad part manufacturing. and seeing that they had to make the car on VERY little funding from Ford, its truly amazing they made that supercar.

yeah, i was kinda skeptical about the ford GT. It took them about 1 - 1/2 years to develop the car from start to finish. Still better than a chevy, imo.

for 150k
id buy 2 zo6s
but still a nice car for a ford
Anyone who knocks the Ford GT simply because they dont like Ford in general or whatever reason, obviously doesn't know the history behind the "original" GT40. The thing was considered "The" Ferrari killer in its time. It has one of the best records in american history as far as automobile racing goes. I think its awesome Ford went through and made an almost identical replica to the old GT40. To be honest I'm a chevy person, but Ford is more on the right track as far as their vehicles go, in my honest opinion.
the original is entirely different
and for the price this new one isn't all that great unless you are a ford enthusiast
I know the original is entirely different, the heritage is still there though
okay, stats .. the ford GT does the 1/4 mile in less than 11 seconds. Which is quicker than the viper, 911 GT2, Carrera GT, Ferrari Enzo and the McLaren F1. And the Ford GT is only 110,000$ USD. Which is damn good for what you get. And it is the fastest american car in production

$110,000?
fords site says starting price is $141,000
not worth it imo
It's so sad that it was plagued with a recall on that A-Arm suspension.
I sat in one and turned on the engine at a Ford press launch (did not get to drive it
) But that engine runs wild at idle. Has that nice Ford tone to it.
Ya, I know the Z06 should be running toe-to-toe with it, but something about the nostalgia of the GT-40 in the mid to late '60s running at LeMans and beating Ferrari, is just price less. You really have to see those old races guys.
The car is just a beauty. Next time you get a second chance to see one. Check the the head lights as you'll see "100" as it represents Ford's 100 years of selling cars. It's Ford's centennial present, which is why they built it in record time.

It better be for what you are paying. Yes the car looks good, but beyond that, I'll keep with my Vettes.
its also the only american "supercar" in america that has fi
if benz i mean chysler makes the me 412 that would definately put a kink in the gt
also i agree its a cool car for what it is its just the price is insane
you can buy a used z06 and have over a 100k left, think of the possibilties
huh
along w/ mclaren projects
they did a test, i forget what it was, it was on a reputable car show or magazine (or both)
but they tested the GT versus the Porsche 911 GT2 and Ferrari 360 modena
and the GT beat them both
so i dont see how its not worth the same as those cars
compared to its american compitition
its not that much faster for 141k

.....
the vette would get eaten alive by ferraris and porsches
the vette and gt are in different leagues
period
true
i was reffering to the new zo6
much closer

Did we forget about the Saleen S7?
