hey everyone, well i'm looking into buying a crotch rocket. Looking for a bike around 600-750cc's. My question is i'm just getting into the whole bike thing and i'm not really sure what to look for when buying a used bike. I don't wana buy a brand new bike yet, b/c incase i drop it when learning or what not. Any info would be greatly appreciated thanks everyone

im not into bikes that much sorry
whats ur price range my buddys brother is selling his cbr600.
Well i'm looking at spending about 3, i don't want to go to crazy w/ my 1st bike like i said incase i lay it down....where r u located? what year ? Milage does the bike have?what his asking price?
honda cbr600, kawasaki zx-6 or yamaha r6 (is that the right model?) would be my first choices
First crotch rocket i rode was a older gsx 750 and being a small person (5'7" 145 lbs) that was kinda big for me, so i'd stick with the 600's.
good luck with your choice
Yea i'm the same size as u thanks for the info.......what should i look for as far as milage wise too?
mileage, i dunno. there's guys here in el paso who ride year round, and others just ride mainly during the warmer months and beat the hell out of their bikes. If it were me i'd probably look for something around 10 to 20k
Thanks man appreciate all the info, I can't wait to get a bike!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For first bike,
I HIGHLY recommend the Yamaha YZF600RR, it is very comfortable, Brakes of an R-1, and will run low 11's in the 1/4.
That or a CBR600F4I both are great. Cant say enough about the yamaha though. I bought an 03 new for 6800 I think was the MSRP.

definately love the F4i!
Whatever happened to the cbr1000? gorgeous bike!
i had a 99 cbr f2 and i love it.... i jus had to sell cause a lil to dangerous for me and i got a bike before i had a car..(real real cheap).. a 600cc is a great starter bike... most of my buddies have like r1's and gixers and i think the gsx-r 600 and the r6 are the best bikes to start the thing bout the gsxr its a lil heavy and the r6 and r1 arent that much (imo)
thanks nex, when u say a little heavy how much we talking about? ball park of course
well my cuzin gixer weight like 370ish lb... and my buddy's R6 and R1 is 350ish imean not a big big weight change but you'll feel it when ur drivin it but hey if u geta gsxr ul'l get use to it.... oh by the way both my buddies selling there R1's there F$%^ing nice one is silver with chrome rims and other red (real nice)! both 2003 well thats if you live near chicago..
i started off on a suzuki gsxr, then had a yamaha, now im back on a suzuki, love the feel so much more.. along with the gauges...... easier to read, its all preferance though, my buddies like riding suzukis and the CBR's
well my first was my TL1000R and is still. i love it but its alotta bike. CBR600 re great bikes. my buddy never road before and i hooked hime up with a gsxr 600.
