Mitsubishi rolled out the 2006 Evolution (number IX, if you're counting, but don't look for that logo on the car). The new Evo gets some exterior mods to improve engine cooling and reduce wind resistance, but the main change is underhood where the turbocharged 2.0-liter four gets variable valve timing that boosts output to 286 hp and 289 lb-ft of torque.

I heard quite a few different amounts as many times the price was not in american dollars since there not available here. So one article or video would say the fq-400 is $60k while another would say $85k. Still, thats alot for a 4g63 w/ a 18g. Espcially when you can get a regular evo and make over 400 hp on the stock 16g w/out the lag, or buy an 18g for 800 bucks. ITs still nice to see the factory finally put out the power that dsm people have been doing in their driveways for the last 10 years.

yea the 18g was a bad idea. i would have rather seen a 16g in it agian but the car built up more. but for that price i would expect no smaller than a 20g, @!#$ screw that i would want a 1000hp evo, so one of those raptor turbo's or whatever there called.
