Mint body, interior is good, one tear in the driver seat. Runs/drives, but is low on power, seems ready for a rebuild cuz compression seems to suck lol. But, hell 500 bucks and all it needs is a freshening on the motor...wouldn't you?

500 bucks. Its a 92, in red. I might need some door panel parts. Also...with 150k on the clock, assuming it still has its original cams...should I have them reground? new ones? I'd like to rebuild it as cheap as possible, I don't plan on racing it, I just want a nice daily driver. The struts are shot, no question....cheap to replace? Are the brakes the same as every other GM FWD car with the 5x100 bolt pattern or are they upgraded?

If there's no damaged to the cams, just clean them or have them polish. 500$ is great for an Scx. 190hp at 6800 and rev limiter at 7200rpm. Do a check up before to be sure the engine needs a rebuild. may be just a crack head or head gasket. Check the compression. I'll give you 600$ for the car

And while you're there, if ther engine is appart, why not do it right the first time? You can easily squeeze out a few more Hp doing the enigne right. They have a few Hp hide in the Gm build up. if you do it right, you can get it up to 200-210 without any other modification.
if you stay N/A go with Speed pro Hypereutectic pistons. They are lighter and stronger than OEM. Only downside is that they only have them with 9.5:1 C/R on STD size.
Go with a nice .030 overbore with speed pro pistons. They are like 20$ each at summitracing. I can give you the part #. Plus go with a full set of Felpro gasket.
While you're there, get a set of head stud for the 2.3.

Paul- The electric adjustable struts are $$$ to replace and have to be ordered through a dealer (I did find a NAPA that would order them). Something like $569 for the fronts and $2-300 somehting for the rears. I'd hold onto them, but replace them with some nice Bilstiens or something of that sort.
Many people just swap the SCX strut mount with one for an SC or other model and using conventional struts.
Brakes are the same as other J, N-body cars.
The door panels on all of the 92's seem to have broken plastic pieces. Just like the doors on my 88 Beretta did. Huge plastic, rattly door panels. Should be able to find one in a boneyard to swap in there.
Sounds like its my twin. Is the grey intereior light grey or dark?

I know! But I didn't know there was a C41 model. Its low on power either way, I could barely chirp 2nd. I suspect a motor showing signs of having 154k, or it being a 2.3 LO with a W41 cover. I'm gonna try and pick it up monday
