Typhoon
what, it's a blazer...sortof...
my Dawgy's the bestest
Maybe I'm wrong but aren't we comparing extremely different cars here.
An SUV versus a supercharged car, how do you compare that. What do you need? Do you have to haul lots of stuff?
scrufrider- you so have the right idea there

that's why i said typhoon
and i thought the GTP was turbo...hence the T in the name...

LOL, I know it is kind of odd to be compairing these two vehicles, but what can I say. Those are the two that I have narrowed it down to that I like.
I want something that is bigger then the Cav, because I am constantly loading and unloading it these days (so 4 doors is must now), and something that is nice to drive on the highway. As I drive a lot for work.
The 4wd in the Blazer is nice, but not a must as I already have a 1990 Siverado 5.7l 4x4 that I drive on the really nasty days.

meh. to each his own. the GTP is a big car...and if i were to get an SUV, it would be either a Typhoon or a Subaru.
my Dawgy's the bestest
GTP is supercharged, not turbo.
Your talking about two completely different vehicles. I guess it would all depend on what your going to use it for.
Daily driver with some oomf and decent room - GTP
Something to handle bad weather and with more cargo room - Blazer.
I have never even seen a Blazer Extreme or Typhoon. I am only looking for a daily driver, not a race car/truck.

GTP!!!
Seriously, you're at opposite ends of the spectrum; a slow, 4wd, SUV OR a quick, easily modded, can-haul-ass touring car...
Define easily modded.

look @ my registry, I SHOULD hopefully be in the low 13's for... about $3000
Reality is, I can't see me modding either one. I am getting too old for those games.

Ignorance at its best
Joe, it all depends on what you are looking for. The GTP is a great car but I would go for the Blazer honestly. Either the Extreme or Typhoon would be a nice fun truck and very versitile. The Extreme can come with the 4.3 HO which is a very powerful engine, and is only 2 cylinders short of a SBC and takes all the parts a SBC can. The Typhoon is an older Blazer that also has the 4.3 but is turbocharged and puts out around 280hp, but these are hard to come by. Here are some pics:
Extreme
Typhoon

I daily drive mine, it's probably one of the most comfortable cars I've ever been in... Mine will (better :p) run low 13's and it's a daily driver, not a race car...
blazer extreme def man. but i guess it depends on what you want look wise and functionality.
the blazer is nice and comfortable and lots of room in the back for whatever you need and 4wd if you need it. and if you get the 4.3 engine youll have PLENTY power
just go on cardomain to look at blazers youll find all types the lifted one and the slammed ones

R.I.P. Brian Klocke, you will never be forgotten
Balzer Extreme....
but I hope you never have to drive in snow
Otherwise....Blazer ZR2's are awesome.
What you really need to do is get out and drive both. Which ever one you feel more confortable in is the one you should buy.
