damn...thats alot of boost
you can build alot off engines up to that much power just takes $$
sr20's have made that power on the stock bottom end.
? you can make that w/ the ecos bottom ends
only things that have issues are the rods
Sr's have been making that power on stock bottom end... on one hell of a tune, and the engine will not last long. The CA18DET has had better luck on those numbers because of the beefier block and better head. A Stock eco will NEVER MAKE 500 wheel horsepower. SORRY. DOn't compare gm's junk to nissan jspec engines. it will never happen.
sappyL61 - Its a lot cheaper then u think.

yeah but the sr20det is 15 years old.
and the sr motors are just as stong if not stronger than a brand new eco...

i never said an entirely stock eco
if they can build them to 800hp for salt flats
you should be able to build a nice 400-500 hp engine no problem
just costs a bit of $$$
what they're trying to say is it would cost less for the SR20DET to achieve that kind of HP, compared to an eco.

of course
cuz they have tons of after market support
and they've been around for a while
and it has forged internals to begin with. no need to rip apart the bottom end. connecting rods are not a small project.
