first off I left Facebook, didn't see much point to be on there it was stressful and I didn't really do a lot of real note there, I do miss the couple 'secret' chats we had on there
My surgery went well, I am in the third week of recovery now and am doing fine. Turns out you don't need your esophagus
I had to make the hard choice of leaving the cavalier behind, the trans broke a few days before I was to move back north, bad luck there
I have found a replacement car
2.8L V6, AWD, Wagon, just over 100K on the odometer
It'll make a decent DD
I miss my Cavalier, even if it made 100 hp on a cold day and had more suspension then it deserved.
I washed it today, my whole body hurts after doing it but worth it
the gas gauge amuses me
0 gas
1/2 gas
1/1 gas

night-time interior shot, love the blue/red combo
I also cleaned the interior, VW leather beats base model Cavalier cloth

Looks good! Good luck with it. Was the timing done on it?
The timing belt has not been done yet to my knowledge. I know I'm on the edge of it's life, or past it, It is on the 'short list' of things to be done.
But... I barely drive the thing with me recovering from surgery, I've maybe put 100 miles on it since I got it.
My plan is to get it winter prepped before the end of the year
15 inch steels for my snow tires
Fix the small things like the cracked windshield and minor blemishes
...and of coarse getting the timing belt done, it isn't the worst on pricing on the job since the engine is in 'the right way'
I'd do it myself if I could lift over 20 pounds and had the special tools

Lukas is that you?
Was wondering what the hell happened to you.
Glad to hear you're recovering. Sucks about the cav but the new ride looks great!

Yessir, it is. I can PM you more of my contact info if you want it

Definitely man... I found those center caps if you still need them btw.
I painted Half my Brake calipers today, I'll do the passenger side tomorrow

Took a picture outside, the yellow calipers are subtle enough.
I found out that the wheels on the car are off of the W8 Model of the Passat
Might be better for resale value since I plan on keeping the 'stock' wheels too long
I'm tempted to get these 'Detroit' wheels off of a VW Golf

2 of 4 winter wheels scored at the junkyard
I also got a gas cover since mine was missing.

Nothing new for the car, I got my feeding tube removed a few days back.
My stomach muscles still hurt, I can see why some doctors avoid using them when possible.
Still hunting down winter wheels and working on figuring out the logistics or fixing or selling the cavalier.

Nothing much done to the car, just trying to avoid driving it too much.
But...
I'm gonna start looking for jobs now that I'm feeling better.
So that's good.
Fingers crossed for something 'not total @!#$'

Did a couple small things over the weekend
Cleaning and stuff also put some 'rice-boy' exhaust tips on it.
Why the car has dual exhaust with turn downs that hide that fact just seems odd to me.
They really are more OEM looking then anything if you ask me
Trimming the rear bumper has the hardest part, so it wasn't too hard at all.

Nothing new with the car. Other hobbies have been the focus for a bit.

Nice looking wagon. That's the way I'm leaning when its time to replace the Sunfire.
My middle son has EOE so when you mentioned you had your esophagus removed I was surprised. Glad to hear everything went well fo you.
I had achalasia, basically my esophagus didn't squeeze anything down and stuff got 'caught' in it. I had it bad so they just got rid of it, I had other surgeries that where more invasive before.

I forget that I don't have an edit button

stupid winter, and saving for expensive things, I found my yellow headlight tint so I did these

first opportunity I've had to wash it since the snow started falling.
Also swapped down to the base models mirrors to 'fix' a broken passenger side mirror.
