yay parts
stem swapped a 2003 gsxr750 fork set and used my wheel from my other project bike for the time being. I'll be using katana 600 front and rear wheels.
Used a 1992 gsxr600 swingarm and gsx600f rear wheel slotted in place of the stock swingarm
i direct mounted a z1000 shock being as i had it and it was sprung so i wouldn't have to set up a bellcrank linkage.
this is my wife, she's a badass
the resivoir isn't as intrusive as you think. I'm not putting rear sets on so i won't ever have to worry about racking my jewels on it. Plus it's mainly for my wife....she doesn't have those parts.
made some trick brackets for the bucket
just sitting loose right now, but rest assured it will be solid and won't round off my bolts
made a nice little carbon fiber tail..
needed a tunnel to insert my shock bolt.
.85 inch DOM, .25 inch wall
so 3 days work done. Shaped my seat pan from 26 gauge sheet tonight but my phone was dead.
Very cool project man. I dig the cafe racers big time and would love to have one for sure!
Very nice, when you making me one
Club Jeffie, Yea we can make that. Text or Call(908)866-1882
when i receive my truck load of cash from you.
folded an edge to rivet the seat material to and buzzed some ridges for strength,
Sweet another build, looks like I finally have another thread to check back on.
i also picked up another bike for a cool spring project after her bike and my kz1200 is done.
i had about 3 minutes between work to rough shape this pan. It will be about 3/4 the size when shaved even then final with smooth foam on top. The front will be filled with firm foam tapered towards the resivoir
What year is that bike? It look like my 1976 750ss.
I've been trying to think about to improve on a great bike. Nice job man!
1977 cb550f supersport
i have a 1980 cb750k but it's worthlesss, the 550 is more zippy and easier to work with.
also have a 10 spd cb900 custom.
I love these old bikes. I have other modern builds but i reaaaaly enjoy oil or air cooled, steel, bendy, tube frame bikes.
thanks for the compliments
Got my offset counter sprocket made, craved out finish foam and some seat vinyl.
Some protaper bars and risers are on the way.
wife picked out a paint theme and i have to say i'm impressed.
exhaust custom made in 2 weeks. I have a load of customer bikes to do
Maybe I don't know enough, or am looking at things wrong, but are the brake/clutch levers not insanely far from the bars? Just how it looks to me.

oh, trust us, we know
Roughly how much would you say you have into this project so far?
JLAudioCavalier wrote:Maybe I don't know enough, or am looking at things wrong, but are the brake/clutch levers not insanely far from the bars? Just how it looks to me.
correct, the levers have adjustable pull. It's adjusted all the way out at the moment

well, it's a bit off but with spare parts i already had i've only sunk about $375 into it with the cost of the bike.
If you count selling stock parts, with the added cost if i had purchased the spare parts i'd still break even.
Being a cheap skate helps alot.
looking good man, im planning on putting my mean streak 1600 on a diet next summer and bobbing it out when it gets to hot to ride.
most of you don't know what this is but it's a very sexy part to me. '
From a ducati 916 and will be going on the cb550 with a matching wheel to the front
single sided swingarm...aw yeah
been working on the tls lately
Any updates? That's going to look sick as hell with the single sided swingarm.
...
Back burner right now.
I am building a custom tube single sided swingarm and putting a car wheel with a wide motorcycle tire.
Using a 97 vfr750 drive assembly
