You got rid of the GXP for a base model Mustang? Sad day....

oh, trust us, we know
My fiance has the GXP, I have v6 mustang. I actually like the mustang over the g6 in all honesty, but I figured that alot of people would bash it on the fact of it being a v6.

I dont mind that year..but geez that engine bay needs some love!
I'm a big Mustang enthusiast, don't get me wrong... but that generation and trim level is about a blah as it gets to me.

^ I'm with him, that gen/trim, yuck! To each their own.
booo on the v6, but it looks clean. auto or stick? i love my s197. when does the modding begin?
I'd rather have a boasted V-6 Mustang then a V-8
I miss my Cavalier, even if it made 100 hp on a cold day and had more suspension then it deserved.
Didn't you buy a similar Mustang before and trade it back in?
I got a beat 06 GT many moons ago haha. I am liking the mustang and this is my favorite platform. I have to say that this thing is leaps and bounds over the G6 when it comes to aftermarket support and such. I also enjoy the fact that it's RWD as well.

Maybe I'm just getting old, but I like it.
Simple and clean, Is it getting just a few mods, or a bunch of stuff?

at the current moment probably a shorter antenna, dual exhaust, and window tint.

Theres some supercharger kits on the market to get good power out of them (+140hp), other than that its about as good as a 2.4 Z24 engine in terms of power

I'd still rather have a twin screwed V8 over the 6 :p
Nice grab, looks clean. V6 is FAR from my favorite, as I had a SN95 with the 4.6, but still decent. And makes sense with the price of gas today.

Yeah I like the car as it still handles nice, and gets great gas mileage and has a decent aftermarket. Can't really say any of that about the G6 to be honest.

Ehhhhhh Im on the fence about this move.
Want hub spacers rear disk brackets or trailing arm bushings? Shoot me a PM.
Kinda funny, My mother has the 2004 GT 40th Anniversary. It was her baby and she only drives it in the summer months etc. She got rid of her Daily Driver (1995 GTP) and bought a 2009.5 GXP G6 coupe for her Daily Driver. She still has the 04 GT and it has only seen maybe 6,000miles in the past 3 years since the GXP, she LOVES the GXP way more than her V8 powered Stang. The Mustang is For Sale, no one wants it since it's an auto. Only 53,000miles.
I just can't believe you like that more than your GXP. Looks plain. No offense, I liked the looks of you GXP better.
Here is the rough look i'm going for, but maybe using silver enkei pf-01 wheels. I am trying to decide if i want to go carbon fiber on the hood and paint part of it, or if I want to just go fiberglass and have the whole thing match.

Also I won't be putting on those side window louvers that were shown in the pic above.

Roush kit on a non-Roush car. Cowl hood on a stock V6 engine... Dude just how backwards from "Pretty darn good" that you had with the GXP do you really want to go??? Yuck on everything current and planned for the Mustang!

Just made my first purchase for the car which is a Dynomax true dual catback with X-pipe.

One thing I have I never understood is when someone buys a base model v6 car and spends thousands of dollars modifying it, when if that money was just spent upfront towards the v8 version of the car at the time of purchase the car would be better to start with and really wouldn't need to be modded. More power, better handling, better suspension, better wheels/tires, better looking exterior(gfx, graphics, hood scoops, spoilers, bumpers, fog lights, etc) and better resale
I didn't want the V8 I wanted the V6, I don't understand why it was such a bad thing to get a v6 and make the car what I want it to be? I am making the car the way I want it to be for myself to be happy with. I actually enjoy the car and think it's pretty fun to drive as it is right now.
