Aerotech still went to a faster speed. Misleading title here. Fastest quarter mile, but not the worlds fastest 4 cylinder.
allow me to explain since so many people find the vocabulary confusing:
FAST = speed... mph, kmh, etc...
QUICK = elapsed time covering specified distance, usually 1/4 mile, 1320feet, or 400m
fastest would imply that it has the highest speed... that is not true by a long shot.
QUICKEST is the word we're looking for here.
Don Nase Jr's ecotec dragster was quicker AND faster, however it was not a door-slammer...
regardless, nice to know that the ecotec is still being fielded.
I'm loving the fact that it's an Eco that is the fastest 4 cylinder, and also that they are using a G6 body!!!!

Currently 3rd quickest Ecotec on the .org - 10.949 @ 131.50 MPH!!!

I guess those autoblog guys don't really hang out at the dragstrip enough to know there's a difference... or that this car is neither the fastest nor the quickest 4 cylinder in the world.
unless they meant to put "fastest 4 cylinder CAR" (car in this instance referring to a door-slammer... that is, a car with operating doors ala regular everyday cars).
the fastER and quickER ecotec powered vehicle I'm talking about is a rail car... but a lot of people don't count rails as cars, so really they need to specify what they're talking about.
saying its the "Fastest 4 cylinder in the world" is wrong... because the land speed record for speed (ala FAST) is much higher than 206mph.
furthermore, the ecotec rail is much faster AND quicker, hitting 6.42 @ 210mph in the quarter mile... the whole claim is pretty much bogus.
so "In the world" with no further disclaimers, is incorrect.
more like... "quickest 4 cylinder door slammer in the world". that would be the correct title.
why jump on my throat because I'm correcting and trying to educate others? go talk to drag racers and they'll all tell you the same thing... FAST and QUICK are two different words that refer to the cute little numbers that pop up on the time boards at the end of the drag strip...
fastest = mph
quickest = e/t
thats the easiest way to differentiate between the two numbers, thats how everyone I've ever talked to at a drag strip talks about them, as well as AMS racing, Gardella racing, Shepherd racing, and pretty much anyone who actually knows anything.
so chill out and read what I'm saying, you might learn something.
