Looking at selling the Z in the next couple of months. Possible replacements are:
Mazda6 with the 2.5L 170hp
Hyundai Sonata with 2.4L 198hp
Hyundai Elantra with 1.8L 145hp
Dodge Avenger Heat with 3.6L 283hp
Kia Forte Coupe SX with 2.4L 173hp
This will be a daily driver. What do you guys think?

I vote 6 on that list. I also like the way the avengers look, but they are really lacking in the reliability department. And I love Dodge. It hurts to say that.
Im not a fan of hyundai except for the Genesis coupe. Id stay away from the Avenger but i hate dodge so Im bias. Id go with either the 6 or the koup.
Kia Forte Coupe SX with 2.4L 173hp or Mazda6 with the 2.5L 170hp

Since some of you don't like the Avenger, I just saw the Nissan dealer today to see what they had. They actually
found a new 2010 Altima CPE 2 door 2.5L 175hp on the lot. The dealer is working on the figures as I type this.
What do you think about this car? It seems to have a little more get up and go than the Z.

IMO...
1. Mazda6 with the 2.5L 170hp
2. Kia Forte Coupe SX with 2.4L 173hp
3. Maybe New Ford Focus...?

my thoughts too.
with the Koup, HUGE Engine bay in there that's begging for a turbo right after warrenty is up. my one friend has one currently and it drives and runs great. had it almost 2 years now after his Lincoln got stolen.
JBO Stickers are back!!!! Click Me!!
The altima might be good. Thatd beat out the others IMO but the one I had the pleasure of driving was the SE 270hp model. i would imagine the 175 hp should be good enough to compete with the other cars listed though.

i work at a nissan dealer and i love the coupes. even the 2.5 is pretty quick but doens't match the 270hp 3.5
but seriously out of those cars i would get the altima coupe hands down
i would agree buying any of those is a step down
even buying a cobalt is a step down
go look at the new cruze there sweet
JBO since July 30, 2001
Well, the debate is over. I got the Nissan Altima. They made me a sweet deal on it and a good deal for
a trade in on the Z. The Altima is a bit pepper than the Z. Drove it around a little before going to work.
Love it!!! The Z is gone. I will miss it since it gave me great pleasure for almost 13 years.
I'll be around from time to time to lend help where I can. Thanks guys for all your inputs.

trust me you will love the altima. i love them more and more every time i drive them they just feel so much more sporty then the j's. im glad you made the right choice
I thing to remember about KIA and Hyundai are very PROPRIETARY. Which means a lot of the replacement parts are not made by the OE aftermarket parts companies and have to be bought at the dealership.

I have been eyeballing the new Focus since the first pics were put online. I saw one parked at a hotel (5 door hatch in black) today. I am gonna have to make my way to the dealer in the coming weeks to check it out.
I like the 2 door Altimas. But I would personally get the V6 for more power. Slight MPG penalty but it would be worth it lol. Did you get the CVT or manual?

I got the 2.5 and it came with the CVT. This thing is quite a bit peppier than the Z. You all must remember that this Altima was the last 2010 the dealer had on the lot.
He really wanted to get rid of it, so that is why I got such a good deal on it. I am Happy!!!

pics of the altima coupe?
buy a camaro ls1, throw a cam in it and be done. You can get your fuel mileage as well.
1999 - Cavalier - 5speed - Exhaust - 17" rims - carbon fiber hood - the beater
Go with the Koup SX! lol
I got the 6 speed all loaded version and 7 months later I still have the fun feeling from the first day I went to get it at the dealership. Fuel economy is incredible I still cant believe it. Handling is great, comfy and quality leather seats and the power is great.
But that is just my opinion.

i can get a pretty comprehensive list of parts for a Forte at good prices headlamp assy for a Koup is $127 for example, front control arms, $79, Fender for a sedan is $33
Umm... Koup! I love how they look. So that is all i am going off of. Hahahaha.
