He has a Sandstone metallic 2005 Chevy Silverado 1500 crew cab 2wd... What should he do?
I keep telling him to lower it and add some 20'' rims and maybe the SS bumpers... He thinks he should
lift it and add some big all season or off-road tread tires... opinions are welcome help me to help him w/
more out looks on 2 wheel drive trucks...
He should lift it and put big tires on it because it's what he wants to do...
As long as the lift doesn't include a body lift...
Paying someone to install parts and bragging about it being fast, is like watching someone bang your wife and being proud to raise their kids.
nothing wrong with body lifts, as long as they're small. a 1/2" BL is just fine, but when people start putting on 2-3" BLs, thats when the trouble starts.
just my opinion, but there's nothing funnier than seeing a mall crawler 2WD lifted to the sky with huge tires. i just don't see the point, but if that's what he wants then he should go for it.
Check out my build thread!
The idea of making this thread should have gone out after you thought this one through:
"he wants to do this.... it's not my truck, my money, or my time, but I think he should do this... I should make a thread for people to back me up on telling my friend how to spend HIS money."
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

This is true. But, if anybody cares, my stance is this:
4wd trucks go up, 2wd drive trucks go down.
But thats just my stance. Not anything i push on other people, just my opinion. Your friend should do what he wants.
convert to 4wd before you consider changing anything to make it more "rugged" or "off road"
lifted 2wd with boggers=fail.

Thx for that... but, it was his idea... and fyi, i bet him this auto-douche-bagetry would happen on this forum... so, thx x2 for getting me some money on the side... lulz and, no... you don't get a cut from my winnings for being the guy to do it...
Back on topic, he doesn't know anything about modding car/ trucks at all and came to me for help and direction... I am also by the same faith of 4wd goes up and 2wd goes down... nothing more stupid than a poser douche bag going w/ a themed look and not being able to achieve what he was trying to do (actually be able to go off-roading/mudding)

nothing wrong with 2-3 inch body lifts. when done right! but there are alot of ways to screw them up. suspension lifts are great. cost move and will still raise your center of gravity. on something like a jeep with the smaller wheel base and tend to have more body roll, i would definietly only do suspension. on a trucks wider wheel base you can get away with body, but get a proper setup not some hockey pucks drilled out and stacked.
