Ok, So I am completely new to rangers. my friend recently bought a 93 ranger with the 3.0L V6, meant as a project, but he may have got into more than he wanted....the guy that had it before him said something happened one night and the plug wires melted and the plug wires were actually arching off the block, then shortly after it died, and didnt start again. It cranks and has fuel, but no spark. I checked to make sure the coil had power, it has power, distributor has power, put new plug wires on, and no spark out of the coil still....Any ideas anyone?? I am really at a loss here and would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance!

Well, we tore it down tonight, and ripped the distributor out and the drive gear was basically flattened and some pieces broken off which after searching a bit found out its a common problem for them.
