Safe to consider this an upgrade...
Thursday, November 25, 2010 2:43 PM
Since April 2000 I've been trundling around in this heap of economy we call a Crapalier. Clearly it's had it's fair share of mods over the years, but in the end it's still a J.

Put lipstick on a turd, it's still a turd right?

So anyway, say hello to the new ride.

6.0L of all-aluminum fury, in leather lined comfort, with room for the family too! Described by some as a poor man's M5? I'm perfectly ok with that. Typical of GM, to build a fantastic car, then stop building it.

What about 'em?

361 of them, to start...with 385TQ, again, to start...it only goes up from here! 2 major downfalls: auto trans, and 2.92 rear axle. I prefer stick, and shorter gearing. But hey, cruising at 130kph and the engine ticking over below 2000rpm has it's advantages!

nice upgrade for sure.

but in the future won't you be asking yourself it's still a pontiac? is it a nicer car? sure, no doubt about that. but comparing that to a j-body is like comparing david to goliath. i dunno, i get tired of seeing these, i updated! thread's. it's like hey i got a nicer car than 2004 offered! awesome! what happens when 2016 rolls around? gonna upgrade your car and house again?

end rant/

(seriously no personal offense intended just don't understand).......

KG, He's crying because he thinks too many people are posting up their new cars. Instead of saying "hey nice new car", he reads it out of context and whines like a bitch about it.

Congrats on the upgrade, I checked em out when they first came out at a local dealer, and definitely would love to own one.

I thought what he meant was how people like to dog their J's once they've moved on to a nicer and better car (we all mostly will move on to bigger and better things, it's called getting old). People tell me that all the time when I say I went from a J to a Mercedes, and I always feel insulted and hit them back and let them know that I loved my J and had it fixed up very very nicely.

The discoloring? I just assumed it was a shadow.

That doesn't look like a shadow to me.. if it was it would effect more than JUST the bumper.. wtf is up with that..

Re: Safe to consider this an upgrade...

not a shadow, mine is the same way....

Wow, that discoloration is pretty significant. Funny, my "crapalier" never had bumper discoloration?

I really like these cars. Seems like a nice car for a little of both worlds. Roomy and four doors you can call it a family car. Yet, when you step on the gas and let everyone know you're packing a 6 liter under though they know you mean business and still young enough to kick some ass. HAHA
